Convert diesel trucks to natgas

 HR 1380 is the bill to give tax incentives to convert the transportation.  The House will hold a hearing on it soon.  We should talk to our Representatives and Senators to get this passed as it will benefit the entire country;

 

1 reduces foreign oil OPEC imports
2 improves balance of trade
3 creates a million jobs
4 creates huge tax revenue from jobs, materials, royalties and more
5 improves environment as natgas is much cleaner than coal or diesel
6 spurs on the plastics/chemical/pharma industries
7 helps strengthen the financial industry

 

Call your Congressional legislators tell them to vote for HR 1380.

During the seventies, there was a movement to natgas after oil spiked due to the Yom Kipper War and the advent of OPEC. But it didn't last long as natgas prices skyrocketed and oil eventually came down. I evened bought a used van that had been converted to run on natgas.

 

But now the supply of natgas is huge in comparison. And the price will remain relatively stable for decades. Converting trucks to CNG should be a top priority.

There is an Operator in Greene County that is fueling generators on one of it's rigs with a 50% natural gas from one of their own wells. This is a thing that can be done. Use less oil and give the government more money to spend. LOL

Chesapeake recently announced that it will convert all of its equipment to run on natgas. That should be a big help in reducing well site pollution as they used a lot of very large diesel equipment.  Of course, how do they figure the cost and its affect on royalties of the landowner if it comes directly from a well?

 

They also have announced a capital venture firm to assist Pilot and TravelCenter truck stops to add CNG refueling stations to their 150 of their existing facilities. Imagine if all the other gas companies also did 150 stations each.

The politics of using natural gas in motor vehicles goes way back to the mid sixities. It is a viable alternative much more than ethanol. The question is if Big Oil and Government ever let this get off the talking stage? This country could do this and eliminate a lot of of oil imports.

Is this going to happen? In my opinion it won't because Washington has lost face with nation. Obamie is just a face and a card reader. We need to vote all the bums out and start brand new. The founding fathers believed service to one's country was an honor and not a job. They have all become so corupt they have lost sight.
