ET Rover is going to be two (2) 42" pipes

I am waiting for the initial offer being mailed to me regarding the ET Rover pipeline that is running through Ohio. It was made very clear to me that they are going to run two (2) 42" pipes.Their opening bid for this permanent easement is based on surface acres and some crop damage that amounts to about 10k per acre or something like $20 total per foot for both 42" pipes. That would only cover about 30 years of taxes.

So what you are saying Kyle is that when they make you the offer for damage compensation, let's say $20.00 per foot and you the landowner say "no that is not enough" they can just use condemnation process and come across your land and pay you what they paid everyone else ? From what I have heard they want to have one rate for all and not stray from that price. Sounds like the days of by the foot and then by the diameter of the line or lines are over.

These big pipelines have eminent domain rights.  They have to go through FERC to get approval, but once they do, that's it.  They can do what they want.

Smaller lines are still very negotiable.

I'd still try to negotiate.  They'll try to work with you to start off with.
