Legume Shortage to Threaten Fracking?

Legume shortage threatens gas boom. A shortage of a legume used in ice cream and chocolate milk may put the breaks on the boom in drilling for shale gas. Guar is a crucial ingredient in the fracking process, sending global demand and prices for the bean-like vegetable soaring. Although ubiquitous, the crop is so low profile the government doesn't insure or subsidize it, nor is there a U.S. futures market for it.

You guys are unbelievably ahead of the game always, and innovative, two ingredients missing in American ingenuity today....I'm glad you're in this play.

As far as the legume, "the manufacturing of explosives" got my attention but really, crap! will this species grow in this region?  Hell , we have the land right and water?  It's either "weed" or the legume and weed is illegal!

Don't worry too much about any shortages. As the price climbs, farmers will answer the call by planting more acres to take advantage of the price. That will help to stabilize the supply and the prices. I would even think that the drilling companies that need the guar would actively enlist all the farmers they need.

Its called capitalism, the greatest invention by mankind. At least, I hope thats the way it works so I can still afford ice cream!
