Magnolia District, WV

Recd lease to sign for drilling! Is there natural gas being produced here?? I and other family members never knew we were heirs to the minerals left by our Great Grandfather was John Blair! Anyone out there with knowledge of what is going on?

If this is Wetzel County, this is a great area for O&G at the present time;  many wells drilled;  I suggest a lawyer before signing anything and look at the Wetzel County discussion on this page.   A number of good producing wells in Wetzel Co.   Just curious, who is the lease from?

Stine Energy! They have tracked down about 10 heirs and are offering $250 each to sign leases wirh 15% royalties!! Ive had difficult time getting any responses on these forums! My email is how I get back to tjis site!

Is that $250 to sign or $250 per acre? How many acres does each heir own?  If that is $250/acre it is probably way way too low. Depending on the area some people are getting ten times that per acre.....or more. And the royalty may be low also as some areas are at 17-18%.

Check around the county and see what people are getting. Call local government people like county commissioners or township supervisors as they will know what is going on in the area.

Get a good attorney....these leases will last 50 - 100 years once wells are drilled and you only get one shot to get it right.

Thanks Jim and it is $250 each person totally! Im waiting to hear back from.Stone as I have requested more sign on monies!!i They are offering $3k per acre for a total of 16.23 acres. My interest is less than an acre!! Im trying to find out who the other heirs may be--- i can only find 9 of us!!
