I was told this..... if the Well is listed as a PRODUCTION UNIT.. then everyone in the 640 gets a cut
and ALL OF THE REST of the land is HELD BY PRODUCTION..
The other way it can be listed. and I forget...duhhh...."DRILLING UNIT....i think...
.but meaning.. just the acreage in the UNIT of production... usually around 130 OR SO ACRES...
.just those within the "boundery" get Royalties... LESS people to divide up .. better....
Supposedly most well pads are made up as PRODUCTION UNITS....better for the company..
Its all FREE money...:)
all I know is what ive been told so far... and it seems to be not clear..
but if a WELL is marked down as a PRODUCTION UNIT.. all in the 640 get something
IF the well is marked as a DRILLING UNIT .. only those within the horizontal fracking... area..
get $.....im told that wont be told till the company is ready to issue checks. and before the checks they send a paperwork.. checking on your acreage etc....
That paperwork will state what the well site is....Production.. or Drilling....
Seems to be a lot of complicated stuff going on with OIL/GAS ....
Hope it all works out for you...
OH... IF IT IS A DRILLING UNIT.... the HORIZONTAL FRACKING don't start till WAAY OUT from the pad....
and if you don't have any acreage in the Fracking area.. your out....
Most companys list the wells as Production Units so as to "hold" all the other leases...
good luck...

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
