There are many benefits to the Marcellus and Utica "extras" which get removed from the base gas

in the processing of the product. What if any regulations are there to insure the marketable product left over after processing contains a "fixed" amount of BTU comparable to the normal shallow gas product?

For some reason the gas product supplied to our residence currently takes nearly twice as long to heat water to a boiling temperature as previously. This happened last winter as well.

Could this be the result of over stripped product, additives to prevent freeze off conditions, etc? .

We are part of a municipal wide, though gas company owned, distribution system located in mid western Pennsylvania.

Thoughts, suggestions?
