A friend in the industry hinted today that Chevron may be looking to buy out, purchase rights or just buy a large block of deep rights...the hint was that maybe even a purchase of Buckeye Sierra's holdings. This is of course a rumor, but something is happening. A frack engineer said Chevron has 5 wells planned for the pad on Rt 250 by the tracks( two have been permited). I'm not holding my breath just yet.

That makes little sense to me being they sold out their deep rights in Mercer County (at least southern) to HilCorp..... One can never figure those guys out...
Lance,
When did this happen? I have read nothing about Chevron selling out to Hilcorp and live less than a mile from the Chevron Hurtt well.
Did Atlas (chevron) not sell HilCorp the rights to their HBP ground around their wells in southern Mercer County?
Chevron did a JV with Hilcorp. May have swapped a few parcels. But they are drilling one well now and I think they just permitted another in Mercer.
Concerning Atlas & Chevron..... Yes, Atlas is some sort of subsidiery of Chevron. The way Atlas explained it to me, they are still independant operationally, but for any shallow lease held by Atlas, they automatically transferred the deep rights to Chevron. With CHK apparently looking to sell of or selling off their huge stake in eastern Ohiol, it will be interesting to see what Chevron does.
Any more news on Chevron's interest?
Anyone hear of any recent news about Chevron in Tuscarawas county OH?
I heard someone mention they may be derilling a couple wells this year....may have been from a WJER radio report.
