Spectra - Texas Eastern Appalachia-to-Market-Project Pipeline

Early phases of yet another market pipeline in WV/PA/OH : http://www.spectraenergy.com/Operations/New-Projects-and-Our-Proces...

This would not be welcome in my case, having an existing Texas Easter ROW since 1947, with a promise of $1/foot for additional lines (in addition to the existing Big Inch and Little Big Inch there now).

My Grandfather received $160 total from TE then, with the promise of big money if another line went through @ $1/foot. That never happened, of course, but 68 years later, $1/ft is still the agreement and a bargain for Spectra.

Plus Texas eastern is a huge Pain in the rear.  Not a fan of them

Sorry to hear about your situation with your ROW.  I hope others read this and consult not an ordinary but a VERY GOOD attorney to help them craft a lease with terms favorable to you and to your decendants, because as we all are aware, "pipelines are forever!"

I am looking at Columbia Leach Xpress now, running parallel to the Spectra/TE line. My Grandfather had two sons in the Army in Europe when the Feds put the pipeline in in 1943, paid Earl $80 for that, and he was glad to help the War effort. It was sold as government surplus in 1947 to TE for  $143,127,000, and I will guess that Earl thought he was getting paid twice for the same ROW, and at double the Federal price when TE paid him another $160, with an agreement to pay $1/ft for any additional lines that may be put in. None were ever added. TE ran product through that line for the next 68 years and it is still in operation today. I don't think Columbia will get as good a deal as TE. http://aoghs.org/petroleum-in-war/oil-pipelines/
