But first, I asked you above how you would confuse me with David Allen Coe, or John Wayne.

Answer me and I will answer you.

DAL

Why do you throw out such softball questions?  Anyway, it's a one-word answer:

Clicks

There are far away enough LEGITIMATE topics of discussion to be found on the site, "clicks" needn't be e need to allow this nonsense.

My opposition is twofold.

First, we know Heckbert is not a real person who has a real investment in shale energy.

He is a fly by troll, he starts and will not engage except on a rarity. His threads are environmentalist idiocy, not relative to producing energy from shale. He does not live here, he is not invested in this and he has no stake in it at all because he is not a real person.

Secondly, I was content to allow him his nonsensical threads but the Flint water crisis is too far, it is a serious matter with serious consequences which have nothing to do with shale. To try to turn it into a shale related matter is despicable because it takes away from the relevancy of the sick elderly and children, how it happened and what steps should be next.

I expect and accept the political ramifications of the Flint matter but to bring it here and present it as "Heckbert" did is too much for me.

By the way, you will notice certain others have come at me a little, jabbing me but not nearly on topic as they should be, and then running away, twice. "Heckbert" has never refuted anything I have written about him or his opinions.

That is not discussion, it is trolling, and I object, as is my right.

I could just let it go, and now I will.

DAL:

Not so fast, grasshopper.  You did not do your homework.  Mr. Heckbert is, indeed, a real person.  He lives in WPA with his family (wife and kids).  He is opposed to NG development, and he has a right to his views, regardless how erroneous they might be.

Heckbert spent time in CA, San Francisco to be precise.  This should help you to understand his thinking and politics.  His troll role is as you state, of course.  Nothing I'm writing here changes that.  But your assertion Mr. Heckbert is not real is, well, rather off the wall.

Finally, "clicks" is indeed a sufficient basis for Mr. Heckbert's role here.  For our revered "site publisher", "clicks" equals money;  more clicks mean more money.  Is it your contention our site publisher is not entitled to make a living and support his family?  Do you think maintenance of this site costs nothing?  Perhaps you believe our site publisher's costs do not exist, just as you believe Mr. Heckbert does not exist.

Dude:  dummy up

Mr. Walker,

You may be right, but I caution you that I have been doing this (blogging) a very long time and folks are rarely ever who they portend to be, especially leftist trolls.

In fact, the pretend posternalities are so rarely who they say they are I did not even bother looking into our friend's account information, which I should have done.

Trolls usually do not go to the trouble of providing verifiable information, so you could be right.

If I am wrong I own it and I apologize to all, especially Mr. Heckbert for my inaccuracy, however, for his loathsome piggybacking of his leftist environmentalism on the sick children in Flint he will forever be in my mind as the most despicable of people.

". . . for his loathsome piggybacking of his leftist environmentalism on the sick children in Flint he will forever be in my mind as the most despicable of people."

Ah, yes.  We certainly agree on that!!

But California is saturated with such idiots, the cancer having spread widely.  And you will waste your time seeking anyone with sense in Manhattan . . or in the White House.  Watermelons are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

But look, old boy, I've been pretty tough on you.  You've been a great sport and you clearly know, for the most part, whereof you write.  So here is a small gift, from me to you, as a token of my esteem:

The Heckbert cleanse

"rough"

I'll try to muddle through. At the end of the day we are just two guys on the internet. At least you have the stones to stand toe to toe with me, others here have no stones.

I regularly blog on Cleveland.com, I have revolutionary communists, black panthers, black lives matter and various other leftist groups hurling everything they have at me, except for their welfare checks.

If you wanna see the carnage you can, but you don't need to get there before noon, they aren't out of bed until then.

I am not 100% but I have the stones to put a lot more out there than most, all of us are gonna get it wrong sometimes.

The best home run hitters also strike out the most.

Hold onto your royalties,

David

Frank,

What I enjoy about the Heckbert cleanse is the simplicity.

My criticism of certain posters is the certainty they bring to the discussions.

Most of the people with the hard and fast opinions need to be more open minded.

No one knows what's going to happen.  Primarily, because it's terra incognita.  Past experience isn't going to control.

Everybody, including me, has been repeatedly be shocked by the way matters have developed in the last decade.

Misplaced certainty caused the trillions to be lost and it causes much of the hard feelings expressed on GMS.

Steven Hawking said the greatest threat to mankind is not ignorance--it's the illusion of knowledge.

Curb your illusions/delusions.
