They have been laying waterlines down for weeks to tharp/burdick.  I stopped and asked one of the workers who are waving the trucks through and he said its all water lines but was not aware of any pipeline being built...but that was last wk.

He did indicate another well was being fracked on tharp and I have seen a ton of trucks coming and flag men to direct them for about two wks now.

So, hope this is good news!

Craig,

Enter coordinates 40.7262,-80.5111 into google earth. These 6 tanks are what I was referrring to. I seem to remember you mentioning tanks for produced water at the Thompson site. Are these similar to those tanks?

Coordinates 40.7517,-80.4958 will get you a good view of the Thompson site, and 40.7767,-80.4706 will get you to the Powell pad. I don't see any tanks on either of these pads.

Update on Tharp and Burdick; currently they are fracing Burdick, running the water through above ground waterlines off of the Tharp pad. Just noticed yesterday some new signs popped up on the road next to the "NO CHESAPEAKE TRUCK TRAFFIC" signs; they said "APPROVED PIPELINE CONTRACTOR ROUTE". Getting closer to seeing some actual production.

Yes, exactly the same tanks, with the barrier around them....now their are 3  not 6 at Thompson. The problem is the tank(s) that hold oil or ngl's look exactly the same, especially from space. Only labeling will tell for sure. I would hazard to say that those 6 are for produced water. I don't see a tank separate from those 6 that would be used for any type of liquids though, so I would say there will be no processing at the well head, except for extracting flowback. Then sending the produced gas stream to the Thompson site for further processing and then selling/shipping. Sure hope they start construction on the gathering system real soon....rumor says anytime now.

Regarding the Thompson well, yes there are tanks there. Zoom in and scroll to the East of the actual wellhead. A single tank and barrier for liquids of the volatile type. Now scroll almost due North of there along the access road and you will see 6 tanks there for produced water....only 3 there now, well at least 4 months ago there was. Scroll around and you will see 3 distinct areas for processing the gas stream, in fact go to my home page here at GMS and look at some close up pictures of the Thompson site I have posted there.

The Powell well was just fracked 2 weeks or so ago, so who knows where they are headed with it.

The Rolling acres site has 3 tanks on it, i assume for produced water when they flare it and for future use for flowback.

Cool news on the signage you mention!

Thompson well had 6 tanks for produced water and 1 tank for ngls or oil.  Now there are 3 tanks for produced water and still one tank for ngls or oil. I talked to a produced water truck hauler, he said that not much water etc was being produced at the thompson well, and had no idea what was in the other tank...back in Oct.

There is one condensate or oil tank at Thompson with 3 produced water tanks. A truck driver told me that there wasn't much produced water there at the time. I have no idea how often the other tank is emptied or what is in it...has to be oil or condensate.

Hello. Is there a way to see updated pictures on Google Earth for the Rolling Acres and Maga well sites? The well sites you mention are current. Rolling Acres is from 2005 and Maga 2010. Is there a way to refresh the pictures? Thank you

Dave, Not to my knowledge. I think updates are either done when someone else pays for the imaging besides google, or when they feel they need to pay to update it themselves.  I suspect they usually get the imaging done for a customer and reserve the right to use them themselves.

What's going on in Darlington area? Are they still gonna drill on the McRoberts property? I heard they laid the pad and left. Did they give up on that because of the lawsuits or are they just moving away and picking another site there?

Frank, I saw a spud report indicating McRoberts spud date as 4/17. That drilling start date is supplied to the DEP by the operator. However, CHK seems to be moving rigs at random.

They prepared the site and had a small drill in there, according to the guy I was talking to at the diner. They even put a pad in and now there is nothing there. I guess maybe they are just waiting for the big drill.
