Has anyone's royalty checks stop after they signed a lawsuit for the deductions being taken?   Or is this just a rumor?

I talked to Rep. Tina Pickett about this possibility and she reassured me that any such correlation would be a clear path leading to more serious legal action.

Tina Pickett can't even get 1684 passed. How is she going to initiate "more serious legal action" . Don't get me wrong I hope this doesn't come to fruition.

The above question still remains has anyone's checks stopped? Did they stop due to the lawsuit or did they stop due to shut-in???

OUR LEADERS NEED TO GET 1684 PASSED AND SIGNED.

David

Your point is smart and is very well taken.  Obviously the gasco will not seek retribution outside any lease.  But that leaves plenty of room for retribution inside most leases, action which can be attributed not to retaliation, but to something else entirely.

There was a great deal of $$$$ handed out to the elected officials in PA including former governors.  It is all very interesting how they made sure they taxed what we did earn but were not concerned whether we were being robbed or not as long as they collect their tax dollars.

Im not to fond of any of our state officials, where were they when the gas companies swooped in on us!

Anyone know what is happening with the "Marcellus Royalty Action" lawsuit?

At the beginning they were all gung-ho with filing. 1st I heard Nov 2014, then Jan 2015.

The last news I heard was from back in April and I got no answer to my email.

Anyone have any info on this "action" ?

The latest from one lawsuit is that one law firm is expanding its court filings to include Chief, Statoil, Mitsui, and Anadarko. Unfortunately when legal action of this magnitude is put in motion it is a bit like starting a freight train with a 400 cubic inch motor. But once it gets rolling it is hard to stop, especially if it has a downhill grade.

A short TV news clip on the royalty deduction issue

John,

That's the same news clip I was recently given by an individual, which I posted yesterday.

Notce that there is a Non Retaliation Law planned in PA to prevent landowners from having their production stopped when the producer hears that they are suing or complaining.

The penalty is stated as being $1000 per day.

Anadarko is withholding all payments to us after we disputed deductions.

Anadarko claims they sent us a check in April 2015, which we did not receive. They claim they reissued the check in May 2015. They have the correct address but we never received either check. I asked to see the check details. The statement revealed they were taking 40% deductions. Our lease does not allow any deductions. They said they do not care what the lease says, they are going to take deductions and we would have to send a letter to dispute that. We sent them email and a physical letter advising they must reimburse the deductions and not take any more deductions.  The result was, no check in June, No check in July. So..... it appears disputing the deductions stopped all payments. They will not return phone calls, respond to emails or our physical letters.  It appears we need to take legal action. We want to make sure whichever attorney we go with has experience and success dealing with such issues.

Sorry but Tina Pickett has no credibility with me. Her office is useless. These elected officials all received campaign contributions from CHK..1684 died waiting to pass to protect us.  They are all ok taxing us on the few morsels we get.
