In case it isn't widely known, The Bradford county commissioners are having a rally to push house bill 1684 this Friday at 11am at the courthouse.

Attached is the letter I received today.

"I have lived with the drilling for over 4 + yrs.Seen people with bad water, air problems ,silica dust problems, flaring ,trucks ,pipelines, compressors ,and a lot more ."

see now I think we're getting to the real beef that your trying to peddle here bill, you don't like the increase in activity that has come with gas development. it annoys you, it scares you, and ya know what? I do sympathize. there you were, living a peaceful life and now it's all gone to hell.

but....that's life bill, sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. you can whine about it til you work yourself into a stroke, or you can move to a quieter place.

I have to deal with the increased traffic, the extra 15 minutes to drive to Towanda stuck behind a convoy of trucks.

I've lived next to a compressor station for over 20 years, no biggie.

silica dust? do you even know what that is bill? and how many ppm's are considered dangerous?

I've had a pipeline across the width of my property since I've owned it, got another one now...what's your point?

how has flaring hurt anyone? I think they're pretty cool. and I like the way the worklights on the pads cast that beam straight up into the sky too. makes it easier to see how many wells they're working on.

I have never considered it safe to drink the groundwater on my farm. too many years of agricultural runoff from herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers, I drink from the spring in south auburn. tastes better too.

now on the matter of natural gas getting into the water wells in our area, there I have to agree with ya. that just pisses me off to no end. it sometimes seems like there is a conspiracy against me on this one, because other people have had gas in their wells, and me, I haven't been lucky enough to get a single mcf in mine. think about it bill, I could be heating my house for free by burning the gas that I was hoping would be bubbling into the aquifer under my farm, and I end up with squat. it ain't fair, and I agree, it just pisses me off.

so what's the real deal bill? you one of them 1/2 acre lot owners that moved up here from philly to retire in these sleepy mountains and now you ain't  gettin' squat in royalties? did ya sign a crappy lease and now you wanna run the bad nasty gascos out 'cause they're deducting a bunch of your royalties?

c'mon bill, fess up, just what is the deal with you and others like you?

and why in the heck would you think any of us would give a rip about your petty pissing match with the industry that has done more good for this area than any other in history?

@ moldyoak ...I never said fracing was the cause of people's issues .From my past experience most cases are caused by the drilling like you mentioned ,however not all cases are as temporary as you state .There is a case near me where methane spiked over a year ago and still is causing water to look like skin milk (white ) when it comes out .The DEP has said it was methane and 5 water tests prove it is .The first pre drill testing (water ) shows hardly a trace .This test was done by the driller. Real easy for people that have no problems to make statements like " I'm willing to accept that for the good of energy independence and the enrichment of a region " when they are not affected .As far as telling me I whine ,I say telling the public so people know there are those that have problems is not whining in my book .In fact it's more like warning that this can happen to anyone anywhere .Interpret it anyway you like .i pay taxes here just like anyone of you here and therefore have as much rights to my comments as anyone else .Just to bad that you really can't take the truth of what can happen from this extraction process.Maybe it's time to come out of your shell some .Oh I might add that besides methane in water some have gotten fumes inside their homes .Air tests done have produced benzene, ethylbenzene and other chemicals in the inside air .All certified lab tested with suma canisters.

most issues are water related ,however there are people that have gotten rashes ,breathing problems, internal issues ( caused by NG drilling ) and some have even moved due to methane and fumes in there homes (due to their living close to pads ) ....seems there always are those that refuse to accept this is occurring .Including Bradford County commissioners who love the gas guys .Seems you are a lover too !

Bill F.  Why are you on this web site if you are such a NG hater?

Why are you telling me what I can or can't do ?

the fool, or the fool who follows the fool?

Most of the problems you mention were probably pre existing conditions that people like your self now want to blame on the natural gas industry. Rashes, breathing problems, and internal issues. I want proof.
