So anyone talk to Chevron yet for an oil and gas lease?

Negotiations ongoing, Chesapeake is limiting land acquisitions at this time.  Per landman (salesman...) they currently only intend on having 4 well sites in Hancock.  They are not interested in land if it is not in the proposed acreage of the prospective sites.  Thats their story today...from past experience over past year and 1/2 it is subject to change as the wind blows!

Joe,

How is your negotiation going?  I have not joined a land group yet.  What royalty and bonus are you currently finding?  I agree with your statements below... that's why royalty % is paramount at this juncture.

I just read that the liquids rich region defined by Range Resources is defined as west of I-79 and north of I-70.  We are in a prime location.

You must keep in mind that once you lease your minerals rights there is a very high probability that they will be under lease forever.  I think the days of leasing and never hearing from a company again are long over.  I have reviewed many leases and addendums.  Have a land group in Hancock and starting one with other Attorneys in Ohio.  Patience will hopefully be rewarded.

Someone from Chesapeake came to my house today. He was surveying the property all around here because he said they are putting a well up on the hill by Rue 21(behind Walmart) He also said they had leased down to Thompson Hill, (which is right above us) but that we probably wouldn't be asked to lease with them because myself and our next door neighbor didn't have enough land to bother with. I have a little over 13 acres and my neighbor has 5 acres.

I'm in the R&M Panhandle group and I was wondering how many members are from Brooke County. I live down below Weirton Medical Center.

So what did y'all find out at the Landowners' Group Meeting at Mountaineer?
