Hearing that Sullivan County is the "hot" spot for Gas Companies (G/C).  We all know that while leases are set to run out the G/C want to tie up land. Looking at maps on DEP would suggest that the Shale here is deeper/ better than outlying areas?  Also the annoucement of the Marc I has to be a factor even though it completion is so far off?  Is there some other major pipeline for the feeders that will have to come from each well site?  Has anyone been approached about pipelines or other encroachments for their land?    Wondering if there is more to it since hearing about several sub contractors from the G/C are now saying that Sullivan is the Hot spot and that they (contractors) have had a new urgency put on them by the G/C to get things moving?  Any other thoughts or conversations with G/C or contractors? Seems like people are talking to neighbors and of course not hearing anything from G/C since everything is to remain so hush hush about what they are doing.  Let's start sharing information on this web site so people can be a little more informed.  Maybe something you heard or have been told may not seem like much but who knows maybe someone else reading your info can add something to have things become clearer or help someone who is dealing with the G/C on something else.  Seems like the more the residents talk and stick together the more that we all benefit from sharing stories.  Anyone else hearing that Sullivan is "THE HOT SPOT" for Gas (oil) ?

The permits for the wells on Roundtop in Colley Twp have just been approved by DEP. they will be exploratory wells for that section of Sullivan County. They haent even put in the pads yet and probably wont drill till next year. There are 4 old vertical wells around Colley Twp and Lovelton from the 1970's so the gas must be there. Everything now is just rumor and speculation until the wells in Sullivan Cty start producing but geologists tell the gas companies where to drill so hopefully we will know next year when they are drilled.
I would have to agree with you. Sullivan is a "Hot Spot". Hot enough that G/C won't even consider any addendums to the lease they offered me. I spoke with an attorney and was informed that G/C has spent to much time and money with leases and it's time to get down to production. Take it or leave it. Also that the focus of attention will be right of way for the pipelines. Even the legal folks are looking more that way, as I was told.
We have a well pad going in nearby and they have been working 7 days a week. Looks like they are anxious about production...
