After much difficulty I had to go to Mozilla firefox. in order to acess the internet. I had many favorite places to check out every day concerning the Marcellus. And now they are gone.

More info, please. You mean the bookmarks are gone or you get a 404 (not found) error message ... or something else? If the sites aren't being found, sounds like your ISP has a DNS problem. I was having trouble accessing .us and .gov domains (Chilitech dialup) and switching to Google's public DNS servers solved the problem.
Hello Ann.

When I punch in for "Internet Explorer" Everything seems normal. I have a list of "favorites". But when I select one of my favorites, like hotmail.com or any of the others, A note appears at the very top line saying "NOT RESPONDING"! Then in a box appears stating that windows is attempting a fix for it after I try leaving it to start over again.

So now I am using Fire Fox. Fire fox seems slower. And probably I am not very familiar with how it works as yet.

It has been a very bad day today. Yesterday my grandson discovered that his hamster was missing. Seems his Daddy did not make sure the cage was securely latched. Hamster got out. Two cats have been mighty interested in the hamster and a small parrot. As luck would have it. the hamster came out of hiding just a few minutes ago and he is now back in his cage.

Now for the worst happening of all. Lu Ann and I went shopping. We have the use of billy's Jeep Cherokee as our own vehicle died a couple of months ago. On the way to Middlebury and back something broke loose in the drive train. The front wheel drive is affected. So now we were stranded halfway home with Little Will, our grandson, a bunch of feed and groceries. We managed to limp to a schoolbus parking lot on the Boatman road. We called for help but our friend was not home and another person was unavailable too. We called the elderly lady that we normally carry around. We really hated to ask her as she is getting very skittish about driving, But she did come after us. We had also called for a rollback truck to retrieve our vehicle. He brought it home just before dark.

NOT A GREAT DAY AT ALL.

Maybe tomorrow a landman will come and tell us that Dominion has released out $2.00 per acre and we can now lease it for a proper value of $2000.00 that is the running price offered now. We sure hope so!

And how was your day?

How to import IE Favorites into Firefox:Bookmarks
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_bookmarks

Sounds like it ended up being a very good day for the hamster.

I Googled up this FERC document about pipelines and storage areas:
"An Interstate Natural Gas Facility On My Land"
http://ferc.gov/for-citizens/citizen-guides/citz-guide-gas.pdf

According to info on page 7, drilling in storage areas is usually regulated by the state. Have you asked the PADEP what their regulations are? You're blaming Dominion, but you don't know that's it's not that East has decided it wouldn't be cost effective to lease/drill your land (now).

But first, do you have the agreement your family signed with the storage company so you're certain it was explicitly for storage, rather than for mineral rights? Both of Dominion's TC storage areas are depleted gas field type so (at that time) the assumption was that any gas was gone. Landowners might reasonably have considered it as a good deal to get money for "nothing".
I guess I have more or less located the problem with "Internet Explorer" Ann. The big problem now is transportation.

I'll check out the other sites you posted above. after awhile

Thanks

Are you registered with the EMTA for their Senior services?
http://www.emtatransit.com/SeniorShared/
I'm not on one of their scheduled routes but do periodically see one of their buses go by. So, I signed up with them "just in case".
I dont think we will need the EMTA yet Ann. But we will keep it in mind Ann. And again we thank you.

Bill; I wouldn't put too much stock in anything a landman says. The ones I've met are generally clueless; the one from Chesapeake was as surprised as I was that Chesapeake just stopped talking to me. He had no idea that they were pulling out of this area (I think I knew that before he did!). I think you need to deal directly with the companies (East, Dominion) to find out what the problem is...as Ann mentioned, it could either be Dominion holding onto your rights, or East just doesn't want to be bothered with the extra work of drilling in a storage area. It seems to me that East has stopped leasing new property until they develop all the land they already have leased. We could be waiting a long time.

BTW, I've been using Firefox as my browser, and I'm finding more all the time that I can't open certain webpages with it, so I have to bring up Internet Explorer to open them.
Sorry about your day..It seems to be going around. Every day is a new day..:0)
Thank you Robin! We have been having electrical problems fot a couple of years not too. But you know Asplundh has been cutting brush and tree limbs along our electric line right of way this last week. Seems the problem has disappeared. Perhaps they found something.. a broken insulator or something because the electrical problem has not been back. I'm not holding my breath however.

I was also alarmed that our firewood supply would not carry us thru the winter. I have lots of tree tops but my bones and my two tractors were simply not up to the task. (Too many years on me and the tractors!) I have been cutting firewood for about 60 years now.

Anyway my nephew came up and we worked on the tree tops. Mainly I just watched. About three years ago our next door neighbor was cutting firewood and was nearly killed by a tree that had become lodged in another one. He lay there trapped all afternoon going in and out of concisiousness several times. It was carelessness on his part. He did not see the dangerous situation. I dont think he had worked in the woods much. He was laid up for a years time. I am sure he will feel the affects of that tree coming down on him as he grows older.

Hi Ann. I just finished reading the http// ferc guide that you left posted. It explains many things I was not aware of. I thank you kindly.

You're quite welcome. I saved a copy for myself because there is stuff I wasn't aware of either. What would we do without the internet?
