""In many counties, there has not been a notable increase in tax revenue as far as earned income and mercantile taxes," Kelsey [PSU] said. "Lycoming County might be a little different in that the county is more of a hub. If any place is likely to see positive impacts in tax collections, it would be Lycoming County."
Any local taxes collected by local municipalities probably will not be "earth-shaking," Kelsey added.

Communities in Lycoming County where the lion's share of the drilling activity is occurring will see no tax revenue from that activity. That is because drilling does not impact the assessed value of a property, Kelsey said.
"Gas wells will not impact a local tax base," he said. "Some might even argue that it decreases (property) value if there are negative impacts due to drilling." ..."

I did attempt to use PA's CareerLink website to see what jobs are listed for Tioga County. It was a trip down memory lane ... in a bad way. The dialup download speed was like using a 1200 baud modem in the last century.
Anyway, the bulk of the jobs were NG-related, truck drivers, laborers, security guards, etc. There likely are other jobs out there, but they're not being listed with CareerLink. The most "interesting" job(s) was for Field Assessors; the "Location" zip+4 came back to the Courthouse.

Ah, Career Link. I applied for job after job through them (online); it was like my application was going into a black hole. I never heard anything back. One job I really wanted, I could tell who it was for (it was a government job). When I heard nothing after applying through Career Link, I went to the agency with the job and applied and got an interview.
About tax revenue locally...I read through the Berkheimer and Central Tax sites, and couldn't see how my Gas Bonus money was taxable at the local level. Does anyone know??
