I am organizing a meeting for landowners to discuss leases that have an expired primary term that are in a Shell drilling unit that does not have gas production.  The meeting will be held Tuesday April 17th at 7:00 PM in the community room of the Blossburg Memorial Library in Blossburg.  

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the facts and lease terms that apply to Shell's claim that leases in drilling units with a vertical well remain in force even though the primary term of the lease has expired.  We will also discuss efforts to form a land owners group to engage Shell on this issue.   The meeting is open to the public and I encourage anyone who has a lease that has been put in a Shell drilling unit and the original 5 or 10 year term has expired (or will expire in the next 12 months) to attend.  If you are unable to attend or have questions, please feel free to contact me at sfbrion@tiogaresources.com or 570-404-5664.

 Shell is busy in Chatham and Middlebury,that is starting to look like a hot area.

  I am from New Jersey and own land in Tioga County. I would be interested in anything that you find out.  Our lease has expired and Shell said they aren't interested in renewing it. They are doing seismec testing at the present time. Thanks in advance for any and all information.

John; where in Tioga Co. is your property? Some areas of TC seem 'hotter' than others right now.

Lynn, Our property is on Croft Hollow Rd.,Farmington Twp.

I have heard that leasing is suspended temporarily in Farmington Township.  I do not know how official that is.  A well, the Stanley Well I believe, in that area has been undergoing burn-off a great deal.  This may or maynot be related at all.  Shell has recently applied for an array of six wells on the Owlett pad a few miles away as the crow flies.  Perhaps there is some geologic demarcation in the area.  Anyone with more knowledge out there have any more insight?

We also have land on Croft Hollow Rd.  (we are in Middlebury Township) 64 acres with an expired Shell lease.  They told us the same thing - they are not interested in releasing until all seismic testing is completed.

* We did just receive a "Lease Surrender" in the mail.  Our neighbors signed the same lease that we did with CGAS 10 years ago and they did not receive the surrender.
