Just curious...

I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

I'm told a rig is drilling north of Oceola toward Woodhall.  Anyone have more information on this?

Already drilled.

If you're talking just a mile or so out of Osceola, the rig just arrived and began drilling. I think it may be experimental/Utica.

sorry, that's not toward Woodhull. I don't know the area well, although my best friend has lived in Osceola for years.

Brian,

The rig is on-site now.     They are targeting the Utica.

The well was spudded over two months ago - the key results are already in hand. You can find the spud date on the DEP website.

According to PA DEP regulations, a well is considered SPUD when the conductor pipe is set.  The PA PUC confirmed this interpretation for deciding when the clock starts on assessing an impact fee.  I don't know if that was the case with this well, but a SPUD date doesn't necessarily mean that drilling has started on the well itself.

.

I heard that Shell found out what they wanted to know several weeks ago, so I suspect they did more than just set pipe. Setting pipe does involve drilling, by the way - you drill the big hole it gets set into.

Again, not necessarily.  A well can be SPUD without any drilling having taken place.

From the PA DEP's .
RESPONSE OF THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TO PETITION OF ANADARKO E&P COMPANY LP FOR AMENDMENT AND CLARIFICATION:

"The Department interprets the date that drilling commences or "spud date" as the date when the drilling bit penetrates the surface of the land or when conductor pipe is begun to be set by being driven into the ground."

Jack, Methinks I see ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder) at work here. I often wonder if some of these people even listen to what you are saying, before they hastily disagree with you :)))

Thanks folks.  Has anyone heard any news or gossip on the well efforts over near Beechwood Lake?  I'm told a flare should be lighted soon at the Neil pad.

I live in Wyoming and it is a balmy 40 degrees, but the wind is howling about 50 miles an hour.  It has been a long, cold winter here too.  Dad sent an e-mail to me reporting 18 below in Keeneyville.  Can you frack with ice?
