Just curious...
I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

PGE also has a McKean County Utica test staked. We will hopefully all know a good deal more a year from now!
So you are saying that P1 well is only 7000' long? Somewhere I received the impression it was very much longer.

So then P2 well was drilled in a southerly direction too from P-Pad. Ill get the map out and take another look OT. And thanks for helping to clear the confusion up!

I have two maps in front of me. One map shows painter unit stretching from just a few feet north of rte 49 southeast to what I think it is called Doan road.
This map came from Travis Peake Resources. It has all the properties enclosed within the Painter unit.
The other map has the Flatcastle develop plan. This map is much smaller and consequently lacks the detail such as roads and creeks that I am familiar with. Worst of all I need a powerful magnifying glass to read detailed information.
Thank you for all your help in understanding how this gas well industry works and problems involved.

OT, that is some serious production for what I assume is a Marcellus well, being so far South in TC.
Is this a new 'hot spot' for TC Marcellus, or just better completion techniques?. They may not rival the best wells in Bradford or Susquehanna counties, but impressive nonetheless.
The 'several live perf guns'....are these charges that did not function properly?
Sounds a little complicated. But for us ignorant folk, You might say it is like shooting a deer. You shoot but if you are off just a few inches, you could harvest the entire deer or just take his ear off!
Thank you for helping us understand better the in's and out's of well drilling OT.

Do you have maps or are they available somewhere?
Thank you Josie

Remember that Shell inherited an incomplete unit layout from East that was designed primarily to hold acreage, then as optimal lateral lengths increased had to modify their own plans while working around the earlier Shell and East units. I wouldn't blame Shell for not being able to make it all look perfect. Circumstances change, and so do development plans. You do the best you can.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
