We have property in Trumbull County and have been told by ALOV two more weeks but they have said that 3 times.  I am concerned about the length of time it is taking versus what they said it would take.  Has anyone else heard that they are promoting somewhere around $4000 or $4500 an acre and around 18% in royalties.  I have also heard people in the area  say that those per acre prices will start coming down as the companies expand into Trumbull County.  We have had interest at $1500 to $2000 per acre and 15% royalties and the ALOV proposal has more but I am not sure if it will really come true.

Does anyone here know the details of the recent (early Nov 2011) ALOV lease signing? This included landowners in Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Jefferson, and Mahoning counties. It was supposedly 25,000 acres and $5800/20%. Does anyone have a copy of this lease?

I don't know about ALOV, but my brother belongs to a circle of friends that manufacture pipe for the oil and gas companies.  They've advised us to hold out for $8K an acre.

In Todays Warren Tribune- Trumbull county ALOV is having a final meeting at the Champion high school this Friday at 6 p.m. to discuss the o/g opportunity for residents. The deadline to join group is this Saturday. For more information call ALOV 330-337-3100

Craig...do you know if this meeting is for ALOV group members only...or is it open to the public?

Just talked to ALOV, and they told me that this is another signup meeting.  He said if you are already in the system, there really was no reason to attend.  He also told me that they are looking to finish negotiations by the end of December, but he also said not to hold him to that date.

Edward, Ron is right, just trying to recruit a few more members before Saturdays deadline. It will be very interesting to see how much acreage is aquired by ALOV Trumbull.

I just created an Ashtabula County  and a Geauga County group. They are waiting on approval from the site publisher.

The Ashtabula County and Geauga County groups are now approved by the site publisher and ready for landowners in those counties to use. Click on the links below to go to those groups.

Ashtabula County

Geauga County, OH

I have land in Ashtabula County and would also like a page dedicated to that area........I don't know how this is accomplished.  Talked to Tri-State Energy about leasing in Ashtabula.  They are leasing in Southern Ashtabula, but are not willing to go over $3,000/acre.  They informed me the infrastructure is not in place like the southern counties.  Hence the gas companies do not have as much of an interest in Trumbull or Ashtabula.  Sounded like a scare tactic in order to get me to lease with them.  If there is billions of dollars worth of gas beneath Trumbull/Ashtabula I don't think the lack of pipeline, etc. is going to thwart their interest.   I think we can do a lot better than 3K, even if it means waiting a year.  Hopefully Buckeye Mineral moves into Ashtabula after they close the ALOV deal in Trumbull.

I live in Kinsman, and I saw that they have been testing the areas all the way through on my way to work (on Rt 7).  I work in Andover.  So, I think you're right that it was simply a scare tactic.  There is interest, or they wouldn't be testing.  They have the cable running alongside the road, over driveways and the specific trucks are there as well.

There is a video on one of these threads that shows how they test.  What I have witnessed looks like the trucks and equipment that is in the video.  They were "shaking the ground" in Kinsman on Friday and now they're already up to Andover.  I think they may have halted a bit (maybe because of the rain?); I'm not exactly sure.  I'm just an observer.

So, I think you're right, Brad.  It seems there is still a lot of interest still north of Trumbull and in Ashtabula.  I did stop and ask one of the drivers (when they were sitting and waiting for their crew to show up at the old Stafford Music Hall if they were testing in Kinsman.  He answered, "Conneaut."  Nothing else, just one word.  He wouldn't say anymore.  So, maybe like someone else suggested, they're testing from Charleston, WV all the way up to Conneaut.

Interesting.  I'm pretty sure they did the same thing on Rt. 534 from Damascus to Geneva.

Yes.  What was the new yellow line they were putting in that runs all the way down Route 7 from Kinsman to Brookfield?  Was it a new gas line?  Or was it cable?
