Reuters says “freedom from bias.. shall at all times be fully preserved” but the news service’s reporting of fake fractivist news says just the opposite.

A news story out today from Reuters illustrate just how much fake fractivist news there is out there and how incredible stealthily it’s done. Titled simply as “U.S. Justice pledges to prosecute activists who damage pipelines,” it sounds innocuous enough but a close reading indicates its anything but that. It’s biased to the very core.

The fake fractivist news aspect of the article is apparent in the opening sentence (emphasis added):

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Department of Justice on Friday pledged to prosecute protesters who damage oil pipelines and other energy infrastructure, a move that could escalate tensions between climate activists and the administration of President Donald Trump.

Notice the juxtaposition of “climate activists” (white hats) with the “administration of Donald Trump” (black hats). Then, there is the bit about how the prosecution could “escalate tensions.” Yeah, and the prosecution of the Dapper Don, John Gotti, escalated tensions between Cosa Nostra and the Bush Administration, too. So what? Crime is crime and “climate activists” who vandalize pipelines at great danger to themselves and others are criminals who deserve to be prosecuted regardless how much tensions are escalated.
