How do I no if my land is in the north 40 unit thanks Ron
Is there a map that shows when the permits were pulled in a unit and if a well(s) has been drilled? I do not live in PA and do not have any idea what is happening on my land in PA.
The sites marked on the map are only DEP permits applied for. The actual drilling starts sometime after the permit is approved, although pad preparation sometimes starts before that. I think that depends on if some leases in the unit are about to expire.
The units are not declared until about 6 months (for Chesapeake) after actual production has started. Again this can be sooner if some leases are about to expire, in that case is is immediate.
When the units are recorded in the courthouse, then we get to see them. They are not required by law to record them and can be changed anytime and as often as the gas company wishes.
Ron some of your property is in Feusner's unit. Here is the map if you don't already have it http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31036030/Feusner%20unit.pdf

I suspect that there will be another well between North 40 and Fausto, but that's a guess.
Here is the answer to my question.
Wayne is there a map like this for Tioga County?
There were a couple of people asking about creating one for Tioga a while back, I don't know if they have done anything. It might be worth asking that question in the Tioga discussions.
Thank you. Although I'm in Bradford county and the map is very helpful I have friends in Tioga that asked.
I've been on vacation for 3 weeks, but will get back to it soon.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
