At the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011, there was a joint effort group lease in several Western Pa. counties. Does anyone know how this ended?

And furthermore, now they need more time to send out letters. This deal was supposed to close by the end of June with checks out by the end of the year. I repeat, what a messed up process!!!

All that and less than you could get on your own?  For those of you in N. Butler Co. please feel free to check out a true Landowner group organized by local landowners:

We provide regular updates and information on our progress and we would love to have you join our group!

I have over 200 acres in this sale and I am hoping that my acreage is NOT sold - over the past year and a half - lease prices have been going up steadily and if my acreage goes into a 10 year lease - then whoever purchases it will probably sit on it for 6 or 7 years before any drilling activity and of course no royalites - The numbers in this lease over a year ago looked pretty good but the 10 year time frame isn't good at this time.  It wasn't indicated at the public meetings that it "might" be cut into 6 pieces - it was repeated in these meetings that it was all or none - no picking and choosing.  If you double some of the lease numbers to extrapolate to 10 years on Shalebiz.com - this sale isn't really that great--at this time.

So I personally got my fingers crossed that I am NOT part of this sale - I will then look into a 5 year lease with someone eventhough it might be a little less money than what was proposed at the beginning of MDS lease - my chances of getting some royalities sooner is much better - so Santa - if you are listening - don't put me in this lease -- I have been a good boy - well at least I have been good "some" of the time.

From what i have heard - Armstrong county, southern Butler and Westmoreland sold. Call Knapp and he will tell you at least thats what he said in his post. Call and ask him if yours sold.

Mike, I have to commend you for taking this all in stride.  I have seen some group leaders that did not & it showed a major lack of business ethic.  I know I am not in your group & from the sounds of it, probably not even in the same state.  But I just wanted to commend you for taking the high road & holding to the professionalism!

Mornin Mike,

I think we are in the big package--Elmbrook Hunting Club Inc. in Elk County. We signed with BLX .

Are we in or out?

Good morning Mr. President...I spoke to Mike Knapp and he advised that the Elk County properties were not included in the sale. The Rupert family is dissapointed with this, but we also realize that this was a distinct possibility when we signed this past 4th of July weekend. I have been working on other options since October as all communication from BLX shutdown. You and I have discussed this many times and I beleive it's time to move on. Mr. Knapp was the only one to call me back and I commend him for his professionalism and honesty. Heck, he was not even our landman, but still took time out to call me...KUDOS to Mike Knapp!!! Joe, stay in touch my friend...we lost this battle...so what...let's concentrate on winning the war...Your friend Daniel Rupert

I wasnt even part of the Knapp or MDS leases (Energy US got kicked out of the sale) and Mike Knapp helped me more than anyone else.  Not the outcome everyone wanted but he was honest and is a standup guy.

I agree with you JD...I look forward to meeting Mike...I bet you he is the type of man that looks you in the eye when he shakes your hand and talks with you...my type of person!!!

As a landowner who passed on this deal I didn't have a dog in this fight.  That does not mean I have not been following along to see if I didn't make a mistake in not signing up for it.  While it seems a good amount of those who did sign up are a bit bitter, I can only imagine how those parties feel that poured the time and money into this project only to come up short of the homerun everyone was hoping for (if in fact the outcome that is being reported in this thread is true).

Alot of good came from being tied up in this deal. For one, it prevented me from signing for $1500 an  acre or even less. I really cant complain. Yeah, it would have been nice getting 3k + an acre. But it really has been a learing experience for all of us and we're better off for it cause prices have gone up! Good luck to everyone.

Dan lets fire-up the keystoners group again and make something happen!!!
