Permalink Reply by George Brown on December 31, 2011 at 6:15am Mary, the losers who don't contribute a darn thing to the betterment of society should be taxed. Instead, we subsidize their bad behavior thus increasing it to the point where it begins to break the bank.
As a Libertarian, I say minimize taxes for everyone. But if you want to play the class-warfare game, then tax the poor and leave the rich alone!
Permalink Reply by mary kinser on January 2, 2012 at 4:40am why is it always "leave the rich alone"? how do you think we should get more taxes from poor people? Last i checked you still cannot get blood from a turnip.
Permalink Reply by George Brown on January 2, 2012 at 11:17am No, we shouldn't get more taxes from anyone. We should leave everyone alone. But if you insist upon taxing someone, then let's tax those who do little or nothing for the betterment of society. I'm not talking about the poor who are disabled or sick, I'm talking about those who are able bodied yet refuse to be productive, refuse to better themselves, and do nothing but consume resources. Tax them, but leave the producers alone so they can continue to produce and increase the general wealth of society.

What you say may sound good, however those who are able bodied yet refuse to be productive, refuse to better themselves, and do nothing but consume resources..... they have very little to tax. 100% of nothing equals nothing. The IRS must tax the producers or the US will have to default on the debt.
As Americans we should be proud to pay taxes on the riches we have been blessed with as Americans!

Having the government take money and redistribute it is theft. The money would be better left to those who have earned it. It would then produce more wealth in which all would benefit.
Permalink Reply by George Brown on January 4, 2012 at 2:13pm No one should ever be proud to pay taxes to a government that wastes them and uses them for things with which the taxpayer would never agree. Our government is out of control and has been for quite some time. The only way to rein it back in is to starve it of its life blood which is money. By "proudly" paying your taxes, you simply feed the beast. Would you proudly give whiskey to an alcoholic, proudly give crack to a drug addict, or proudly give Twinkies to an obese person?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
