I think selling a portion of your land is a good idea. You'll receive the guaranteed money of the sale with a lower capital gains tax rate and, in your case, you will still have a large portion of your land with mineral rights if/when your property is put into a unit and drilled. Nobody knows how long it will take these E&P companies to drill all the land that they have leased in the Ohio Utica. I hope it happens soon for everyone but some units may not be drilled for 10,15 even 20 years especially those that are HBP. Also, based on one of your earlier posts, we must be in the same neighborhood. I own some property in Guernsey between Barker and Shannon Run on the Guernsey/Belmont line. Good luck to you!
Nice to meet you David. we have to be close, im on Barker not quite to track rock. I agree with you, i want to cash in some land now rather than hope, pray and grow old waiting and waiting. Are you with Oxford ? is your property on Shannon across from Lake, i think thats her last name.
Robert,
I'm a vacant landowner, bought the property to hunt on. My property includes Shannon Cave and used to be owned by N&C Yoder. It is on Barker and goes north just short of Shannon Run. I signed with Chesapeake in June. Our properties must be real close!
im a vacant guy also, but i did build a nice house down there five years ago. i did it for hunting as well. where are you from, i live in Avon Lake. Were do you park durring hunting season.
Robert,
Sounds like we have a few things in common. I live in Medina county and work in Cleveland. I sent you a friend request. Perhaps we can share information with each other as we hear it. Thanks.
Paul,
what makes you say the minerals are worth 15k. i have a guy who wants 100 ac. of my rights (12.5%) i would still have 250ac of rights left. What are they worth ?????????
At 20k per acre I have 155 unleased acres available in the wet gas zone. Friend me here and I'll send the name and address where they can send the check.
We currently have several listings with minerals for sale and they attract a lot of attention when marketed correctly. There are tons of investors, royalty groups and brokers buying right now. My advice to a land owner who wants to sell minerals is to only sell half or a portion of them... keep in mind that these groups are buying them for a reason!
We need a new Group.....Mineral rights for sale!
Sign me up too......I would definetely sell all/portion mineal rights at the right price.
This is a business.....in business you hedge your bets to minimize risk.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
