I'm meeting with some Pierpont guys tonight I'll see if anyone knows anything. I have not heard that. If it's one landowner that probably narrows it down a bit.

Thanks...I heard this secondhand...am really curious if it's true and if the $ per acre is what I was told today...

I've heard from 2 different people...one said 5000, the other said 5100.  I just can't believe anyone is leasing yet at these prices in Ashtabula County, especially that far north...   :-/   I won't mind at all, though, if this IS true!

Ed,I believe that is what It should be,they know there is a lot of oil down there,all the maps indicate that,jmho. Also,in this area the utica is not as deep down to get,5 to 6 thousand. Those are more like the numbers I was looking for.

I agree, John...just will surprise me quite a bit if that price is true only because it seems like things are moving up through the county so quickly...

Met with some people last night ,  one is in the O/G business no one has heard any of this rumor. Maybe my neighbors are keeping me out of the loop  ,LOL

Nope...I've spoken with several people I know from around the Pierpont area (as has Dan - Thanks!) and none of them have heard of anyone signing leases with any company other than Wishgard...

Spoke to a Landman from Holland Land Services - after being referred to them by Shell.

He told me that there has been no Leasing activity by them / Shell in Ashtabula County that he knew of.

Maybe there are other Land Services Companies affiliated with Shell that I don't know of.

Does anyone know of any ?
