ALOV and Northern Trumbull County- Updated Discussion to include BP Lessor's and Bonus money Payment's

Hello all!

I have been doing a little research and speaking with friends and neighbors about forming a group to address the needs of those of us not yet represented by a landowners group.

This led me to call ALOV after hearing that they had accepted some acreage in Trumbull county.

I paid little attention to ALOV earlier as their website did not list Trumbull county as an area of interest, although the work they were doing was certainly of great interest to me.

From what i gather there was a cut-off of June 30 for sign-up with ALOV, they extended that and also had a meeting at RD banks Chevy in Champion. This may not be news to some of you, but i had not come across the posting until after. The word i got from an individual at ALOV was that Chesapeake set a northern geographical cut-off in Trumbull county of St.Rt.88, again this may not be a newsworthy flash to some. Many landowners attended, more than expected according again to a source at ALOV, and signed up their acreage.

Now heres the news, ALOV has agreed to start a "Waiting List" of still more interested parties from areas north of St.Rt.88. If you call them with name, address and phone number they will put you on the list, and depending on level of interest, they may choose to represent us as a group in a similiar fashion, with the same or even better terms to Chesapeake, or another interested party.

So call up ALOV, their number is listed on their site www.alov.us , and ask to be included in their next go around. From where i stand why re-invent the wheel, they already have done the groundwork and have the attention of the industry on favorable terms, lets ask them to either start another "Pool" to include us, or come work with us to the same end.

If you have information to share, please join in the discussion, Thanks

Hello again to all my fellow Utica Shale Owners. I Just stopped in to ask if there were any who signed with BP from the ALOV Northern Trumbull county group, that resulted from these efforts, still around.

Has anyone had any conversations/correspondence from BP concerning title defects, or other issues that would delay payment or affect your lease, or gotten a check for Bonus money?

I was under the understanding that Chesapeake was not going into Trumbull at all.  We are in southern Trumbull -I feel it is all around us but where we are, or we find out too late. Where is the information so we know what is going on? We would sign with either but which is in our area?

Beverly, Check out the Trumull county recorders web sight. Do a simple search and you will see Chesapeake has leased alot of land in Trumbull along with Enervest,Carrizo and BP. Chances are Chesapeake will flip some of there acres in Trumull.I believe they all will sooner or later.

so how do you go about having your land leased?

POINT PLEASANT LANDOWNER GROUP IS WHERE i SIGNED. THEY TAKE ANYONE WITH A 1/2 ACRE OR MORE  AND DIDNT CARE THAT i WAS IN NORTHERN MERCER. I HEARD THAT ALOV WAS TURNING DOWN PEOPLE IN NORTHERN MERCER.

I SAY WAIT A WHILE. THE FIRST OFFERS ARE ALWAYS LOW. IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF MONEY NOW, TAKE ONE OF THE DEALS. OTHERWISE, JOIN A LANDOWNER GROUP AND RUN THE PRICE UP LIKE THE DID IN OTHER COUNTIES.

Hello again to all my fellow Utica Shale Owners, Just stopped in to ask if there were any who signed with BP from the ALOV Northern Trumbull county group that resulted from these efforts, has anyone had any conversations/correspondence from BP concerning title defects, or other issues that would delay payment or affect your lease, or gotten a check for Bonus money?

I am hearing rumors of July as a date for first batch of checks (previously August). I was told by ALOV as well as BP rep. at signing event, that checks would go out as title work was completed per lease. Sounds kinda like a "bait and switch" to get those of us sitting on the fence that day to go ahead and sign up, i for one resent that tactic, and wonder if this is the manner in which BP is going to deal with us in the future.

Sure could use that check now and will need time this calender year to spend the cash on qualified expenses to reduce the tax burden.

Unless someone can come forward and say BP has paid up, i get the feeling that BP is withholding all payments until the second half of 2012 or even the begining of the fourth quarter (Oct. 1 deadline) for their own tax and other financial considerations and in the same stroke really sticking it to the landowner's by not giving us adequate time to put into affect our own financial planning strategie's and tax considerations with these Bonus money check's.

I was told by the woman who in charge of this project for BP that the checks would start going out the first of July, starting with the smaller parcels first.  I have repeatedly asked how the checks are coming, as I have problems with my mail carrier, but as of yet no one from BP, ALOV, or the attorneys will bother to call me back.  I'm getting a little sick of it...seems like they have our land and now we are nothing.

They have until Oct 1st to pay , this is still June. Start to worry and fret if Oct 1st rolls around and no money. Big business moves slow. What ever you do don't spend money you don't have yet.

Trust me...I went to the seminar that the law firm put on down at the old Avalon Inn and we were told that the first of the checks were going out on the first of July for properties that had a clean search.  This was confirmed to me by Debra Bacon who is the land manager for the project for BP.  I'm not worried about the check, just how it was coming to my house.  I live out in a very rural area of Greene township and there is a place right behind mine through the woods that has the same house number as mine.  My mail carrier is constantly misdelivering mail and I always put the mail back out in the box.  Unfortunately the elderly couple that has the same house number as mine won't do the same.  I just had my garbage shut off because WM didn't get paid because I never got the statement.  So you can understand my worries about how the check is going to come.  Besides, when we first got involved with ALOV, Bob Rea said that the bonus money would be paid when we signed our names on the dotted lines.  I just don't like how this whole thing is playing out since ALOV doesn't seem to be interested in returning my calls.  I never asked WHEN I was going to get paid, just how the check was coming.  Seems like it should be a simple enough answer.

I know it would be a pain but you could have the PO put a hold on your mail and you could pick it up at the office. The lease looks like it had a direct deposit option also. I would think the bonus would arrive by some kind of registered mail. I'm sure it will get to you with out a problem.  I can only hope someday I get to wait for a check also!!

Carrizo brought my check to the house themselves.  We had to sign for it.  We are in north western Mercer County in PA

or working in mercer county pa
