Hello All, question: How much money per acre/per month are these folks in Carrolton county getting for their royalties? I know all wells will be different, some with wet gas, others containing oils. I'm just looking for a good average. I'm only 29 years old and sick of working... trying to determine if I can quit my job now... Hopefully they don't hit a dry well behind me. (of course, I'm kidding)
I'm in Southern Mahoning County, but I want info from Carrolton Co.
Cheers!

The numbers vary.....could be $30-$300 an acre a month. TOOOOOOOOO many vaiables to know for sure.
How many acres you have in Carroll County?
You are 29 and tired of working already? I'm guessing this is "family land" we are talking about.
Permalink Reply by Big D on July 20, 2012 at 2:45am No, not family land, lol. My house and land is in Southern Mahoning county. 26 acres total. $30/300 sounds very low...
Permalink Reply by Paul Martinelli on July 20, 2012 at 2:47am 26 acres........don't piss off the boss just yet!
Permalink Reply by Paul Martinelli on July 20, 2012 at 3:00am I'd like to see more info too on expected royalties.....but not alot of sharing going on in that area.
Good Luck on that early retirement!
Permalink Reply by Big D on July 20, 2012 at 3:07am I've heard, from what I would consider creditable sources, that our royalties can come in at 1K-4K per month, per acre. Assuming a mixture between wet gas and oil, and of course the 20% Gross. I got a friend that is locked in at 12.5% (1/8) royalty, but he stays in good spirits, free money anyway.....
I'll never retire, but may do a little more golf!

If you were right a guy with 100 acres getting $1000/acre/month would receive $100,000 per month or $1,200,000 per year .Dude, that ain't never going to happen, and you can take that to the bank. I still wish you good luck.

Some of the units in SE Ohio where they hit oil and high value constituents are paying well over $1000/acre/mo The Buell well is on a unit of 177 acres is getting over $2000/acre/mo.....unfortunately for Mr Buell, he doesn't own the rights so the checks go to a coal company. The Shugert well is producing double that but I don't know the unit size. If it is a also a small unit the royalties may be over $4000/acre/mo. And even if it a large unit the royalties will be astronomical if they drill multiple wells in the unit.
Most of us in W Pa would be happy to get $500/acre/mo. But some in the best areas of the Utica will be much higher.
Permalink Reply by TM on July 20, 2012 at 2:33pm So if a person had over a 100 acres they could make $10,000 to $15,000 or more a month then in royalties?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
