Anyone have info on the new plant going in west of Leesville, Ohio? Maybe wrong , but thought I heard it was going to be some sort of cracking plant. Don't have any other details, except a lot of acres were purchased..and I can't remember who the land was purchased from. Should be able to get back with that info later.

This facility is a "fractionator", which separates the various natural gas liquids into their components. A "cracker" converts some of those NGL components to polymer feedstock. Most "crackers" convert ethane to ethylene, which is a feedstock for many plastic materials. "Crackers" can also convert propane to propylene, another important polymer feedstock. Historically, propylene has been an oil derivative, but current economics may favor propane cracking.
Anyway, between ethylene and propylene, most polymers and ultimately most plastics are produced. No crackers are currently planned for SE Ohio, but do not discount the possibility!

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale.
