"41 Marcellus Operators Miss Production Reporting Deadline

More than half of the companies drilling into the Marcellus Shale failed to meet the Aug. 15 deadline to report their gas production.

Under Act 15 of 2010, Marcellus operators were required to report their well production totals from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010 by Aug. 15. Only 33 of the 74 companies drilling into the Marcellus met the deadline. The other 55 percent failed to do so. To date [8/24], another nine companies have completed the report following the Aug. 15 deadline. ..."

I wonder just what repercussions this lack of production reporting will lead to? Most likely swept under the rug!
Or under reporting perhaps.

Definitely not swept under the rug. A Google search on [ marcellus production reporting 41 74 hanger ] gets 1050 hits.
Glad to hear the lack of reporting is not being acceptable and swept under the rug Ann. I'll bet they would if they could get away with it.

A few years ago there was a lot of noise about salt domes being created in eastern tioga county for gas storage. Land was being bought up but few folks seemed to know why? I guess it is clear now that is was not salt domes for storage but gas from Marcellus shale.

Any comments

A salt mining/gas storage project in the Tioga/Lawrenceville area has been kicking around for 10+ years. An outfit named NE Hub Partners got most of the permits they needed in the late 90s, but afaik it never happened. Now, Dominion has now proposed the Storage Factory Project, an expansion of the earlier project.
