EOG Resources Ohio Shale Horizontal

Decent results for such a small lateral. EOG in Belmont County in 2006 or was it XTO?

750 MCF per day?   Interesting well.  Isn't that a little more than needed to supply one house, or do I have my decimals in the wrong place?  Horozontal well into the Ohio shale in 2006 is unusual.  Paperwork has EOG/Marietta on it.  Is it still in production?

On average, a house will burn around 1 MCF (1,000 cubic feet) every three to four days.

Therefore, 7.5 to 10 MCF per month depending on size of house and other variables.

Here is Boan/Marcum well card----XTO;  looks as if it were producing in 2012 and one can see a decline curve.  

To me it looks like one of the early Marcellus vertical wells that were drilled in several counties bordering the river by fairly unknown companies and XTO and Statoil have purchased several of them.  Looks as if it is producing in the Devonian.  Am I missing something that shows it is a horizontal?

The permit is for drill new well horizontally by the company. So I would say it is a horizontal devonian well.

Horizontal? Page 3, 8 and 12. Maybe I'm seeing something different from the 1513' lateral into the Ohio Shale at less than 2000'.

this is fun....the well completion record says the well was drilled to the Marcellus@ 7803' and the producing formation is the Marcellus.  Many plats show a short lateral.

I'm curious as to why the discussion about a well drilled in 2006 and has since been shut in?

Because it's a slow day in gasland I think.   "What did you do today?"  "Oh, scrutinized old drilling logs and permits for a well drilled in 2006..."   Bunch of gas geeks doing what we do....

On 1/17/2014 Enervest pulled a permit to drill horizontal in the ohio shale- queenston. This well card says producing from Ohio Shale. I thought it was interesting that Enervest is looking at other formations to drill unconventionally.
