I would not use the default depth of 8000 feet as a cut off for development.  As drilling and fracing techniques are perfected I believe we will see strata developed horizontally 5500 feet bgs (below ground surface) with economical recovery.  Current techniques are very successful at 7000 feet bgs.

Interesting piece; however, that video appears to be from June 23, 2010! I think that Dr. Engelder might think more of the Utica at this point.
Thanks for the info though - pretty cool that they setup some videos for us to learn.
I haven't seen any Dunkirk or Huron activity yet but the Burket/Geneseo in particular as well as the Rhinestreet certainly have heated up as he predicted almost 4 years ago.

  Thanks I didn't notice it was that "old". You would think they'd do something newer. Good grief my Phone can make a 5 minute "video" and upload it.

I just got a "Genie" receiver on my Directv upgrade and I can actually watch YouTube videos on TV now! I searched for more from PSU and they made a few short videos on that same day with the bulldozer/construction noise in the background. Lol
Oh, forgot to mention, that your analysis of where the economic UD exists with 8000' or more depth of Utica appears to be generally correct for the Rhinestreet at least. Burket still appears viable with shallower Utica depths than 8000'. Good call on this.
