In mid-July we received a feeler to lease 60 acres of land in northern Marlboro Twp., Stark County. The landsman was really a woman operating out of Texas (Bellaire), and she appeared to be representing Sierra. The final offer was $350/acre for 5 years, with no specific strata spelled out. We chose to sell the land instead and allow the new owners to make their own decision. To my knowledge, very few of our neighbors chose to lease either.
Permalink Reply by David Mohn on January 28, 2011 at 12:15am I just noticed a drilling rig that was located at the corner of Rt. 153 and Rt 183. Does anyone know who is drilling this well and if it is a vertical or horzontal well? Just wondering thats all.

Permalink Reply by B Binkley on February 21, 2011 at 5:28am Jim, look your name and/or parcel number up on the county Recorder's Office. If you have an existing lease, there have been approx. 15,000 properties (our farm is one of them) that have been subleased already. I found this sublease "recorded" against our farm. I was expecting to see this. The paperwork attached to our farm is 48 pages and consists of 11,000 pieces of property. (Becky Thompson)

But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
