It's pretty clear who dominates Tioga County. If you also tally up last years spud reports, East started 154 wells. Seneca 39, Talisman 31, Ultra 22, Novus 4, and Eqt 1 in 2010.
Another interesting fact is that most of the wells drilled by the other companies are horizontal wells, presumably several in each unit, and the companies are confined to one or two townships. East's wells are mostly vertical wells (each holding a full approx. 640 acre unit), and are scattered in almost every township. From what I've heard, East intends to come back and put 6 horizontals in every unit. How many thousands of acres is East holding? Plus whatever they have leased but not yet in units?
