Just curious...

I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

"Boston Gas Explosions Highlight Stalled Pipeline Safety Push

The series of deadly explosions and fires that tore through suburban Boston on Thursday has thrown a spotlight on proposed upgrades to safety standards for natural-gas pipelines, something that has languished amid opposition from utilities. ...

Federal filings show NiSource, which owns seven local gas distribution companies from Ohio to Virginia, has joined the broader pipeline industry in opposing rules on when certain pipelines need to be inspected, frequency of corrosion monitoring, and reporting leaks. ..."

Irtncidence rates of what "continue to decline"? From the Bloomberg article: "Pipeline-Related Deaths - Last year was the worst for U.S. fatalities since 2010".

Portraying the fossil fuel industry as a beleaguered victim just doesn't fly.

Bloomberg's source was "Source: U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration".

No one (or association or country) has the moral or legalauthority to set/enforce a "global energy policy".

From one of your previous posts: "... global energy war exists using social media as a weapon." Please explain. Am I missing something?

Old Timer you nailed that.Excellent post.
Old Timer:

Whether someone works for an indstry is a matter of personal choice. Whether a gas pipeline is placed on ones property sometimes is not. I don't know, but I would think that farming and logging both carry more risk of injury than pipeline construction. But that doesn't make having a healthy respect for the explosive potential of natural gas an "irrational fear".

A link to one of the "CIA report on social media energy war"?

Thanks OT. And here I thought they only meddled in elections!

Old Timer:
Thank you ... even though you did hype it by incorrectly claim it's a CIA report.

"Russian Attempts to Indluence U.S. Domestic Energy Markets by Exploiting Social Media"
United States House of Representatives - Committee on Science, Space, and Technology
(21 page pdf)
https://science.house.gov/sites/republicans.science.house.gov/files...

The report appears to have been written by the Committee staff, based on a search of existing literature and information provided by Facebook (including Instagram) and Twitter.
There is no indication that the Russian posts to social media had any impact ... one way or another. There are samples of some of the images allegedly posted by a Russian organization.

OT:
I trust the footnotes in the congressional report you referenced.

OT:
Duh?! Yes, that's the url you already posted. It's to the press release announcing the report.
Scroll down the page to: "The report can be found here." Click the word "here" and the actual Committee report downloads.

OT, ref your link to: "The Connection Between Russia and 2 Green Groups Fighting Fracking in US"

Still no "CIA report", but the article does quote a Virginia Tech lecturer who had worked  for the CIA. His specialty is "Geographic Information Systems and geo-location targeting".

"The former CIA analyst (Stiles) said he is inclined to characterize environmental activists who received Russian funding through indirect channels, such as Sea Change or the Energy Foundation, as manipulated sources." {"“manipulated sources” who have no idea that they’re doing the bidding of a foreign power."}

OT:

Again, this is not something I was following. But certainly Steyer's donations don't approach what the natural gas industry has donated to PA candidates. What do you suggest Steyer expects to get for his "investment"?

Being that the LNG process is not cheap, I've wondered if potential European customers in particular would be willing to pay the price U.S. producers want. Is POTUS being over-optimistic?
