Just curious...
I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

from Sharretts to tie in is with a 4” pipeline
From gas house to main is a 10” tie in to main pipeline....

The Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County has asked for an extra water sample from Beaver Run Reservoir after a gas well located near the water source recently lost pressure.
CNX Resources suspended fracking operations from its Shaw 1G well, a deep Utica well on the northwestern side of Beaver Run Reservoir, because of a “pressure anomaly” observed last week, the Canonsburg-based energy company said ..."

Permalink Reply by Bullfrex on February 5, 2019 at 9:11am This is going to be a BIG deal once the mainstream media, fracktivists and the anti-fossil fuel crowd get wind of it. It is unfortunate for the gas patch that one driller might have tried to cut corners, and the 'accident' is going to set things back for all of the E&Ps.
Permalink Reply by farmgas on February 5, 2019 at 10:53am Bullfrex - are you saying this won`t be a quick or easy fix? What will the short term and long term effect be for CNX? What will happen to this well now?
Permalink Reply by Bullfrex on February 5, 2019 at 12:20pm I am afraid I have little knowledge of the gas well workings and how this will shake out. I hope it is positive for those involved.
My concern is the 'propaganda' that will be spun from this incident....not good for the industry in the long run- just more ammunition for the Anti-fracking folks to impede and legislate new constraints for PA E&Ps.

I doubt any penalty the DEP might impose would approach the cost to CNX of the loss of one - and possibly 3 more - wells.
Permalink Reply by Bullfrex on February 6, 2019 at 5:39am The story as written is confusing to me....two different folks having issues with SWEPI, but it seems the DEP has ruled no foul in the case of contaminated water, while the other about a cancelled bonus payment on a lease is going to be settled by the courts.
The second story, it is not clear who was to pay the bonus amount; East or Shell.
It does seem that the lease language in our case, at least, does specify that the lease is not in effect until the bonus is paid. Sounds like East wanted to save their cash about the time the sale to SWEPI was being considered.
I feel bad for these folks, but not certain from the information given, that they are going to prevail.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
