I just wanted to let you know about an upcoming Seminar Series through the YPE called Energy Industry Training Series- It’s 12 part series, although you can just attend one or two if you like. The first Seminar is in June, and gives a complete overview of both the Marcellus and Utica plays.

You can learn more here!

Our family and partner have 154 unleased acres in Benezette...we were bypassed by Allegheny Enterprises and turned down  Snyder Brothers offers to both purchase and lease our acreage  in 2010. We were part of the aggregate offering with BLX in 2011...but our lease was not purchased and our acreage was turned back over to us in 2012. Nothing at all in 2012! I would be pleased to speak with you...you can reach me @(312) 659-4481...I'am curious how close you are to our property and details on your lease if you desire to share.

I am looking for anyone who has a lease with Allegheny Enterprises. We have 652 acres in Benezette and have a shallow welled drilled on our property to hold the lease. I will like to talk to others who are experiencing the same problem.

Craig - first you can be approach by multiple lessors or companies and talk to them all but as soon as you sign with someone your done.  On the other note about actual leases and who is doing what right now - Well I have property in Cameron county and most of the landowners around me leased back in 2006 prior to the knowledge of this Marchellus shale play.  The good thing is we set up our lease at that time to be only shallow drilling allowed so we just found out a week or so ago that the leasing/drilling company has released(let us out) of the lease and we can approach other companies now for the Marshellus Shale drilling.  At present we are talking with other adjoining land owners to present a common front to various drilling companies(at present we are talking ~1600 acres).  Due to each WELL Pad requiring 640 acres to be pooled in order to drill it is very helpful to get landowners together yourself and then present to the drilling/leasing companies.  We also know that the drilling companies are doing seismic testing on some of the properties we are working with so we will(or the drilling companies)know exactly what is where before they lease.  Hope that helps.  Oh yes and I personally have been approach for the addition of a new gas line across my property.  This line is 2 - maybe 3 times the size of what is existing now so I would bet the expectation is positive that the volume of gas they are planning for will meet the volume that can be transported with this new gas line(completion date November 2011).

Apparently Nobody has been approached for leasing propostions Lately! I haven't seen any activity Lately. If Anybody knows of any recent activity amongst oil companies Lately, I sure would appreciate the information. Also I have a question; Once you have been contacted by somebody looking to lease, How much time has to pass before you can talk to somebody else? Thank You in Advance! Craig T. Pistner

this how it works today its a very accurate process many company's will get a group of people to form and come to them with 500 acres before they will consider buying the land, it is illegal to drill on someone else's land without mineral rights and when investing 10 million they are not going to loose that. when they go horizontal they are using real time gps tools to insure this doesn't happen they usually stop before they get close to the edge of the lease also. as far as talking to workers on site its a waste of time company man is who you should be talking to and its dam near impossible to go 2 miles horizontal most wells are averaging 10,000 feet total depth depending on geography. horizontal direction withing there lease is recorded for future plans to drill but that is the company's information and business not ours.

I find it hard to believe that one person has 2 miles of property. I would guess that most property owners have small tracks of land. Unless you know exactly which direction they are drilling at any given well, nobody would knows if they were trepassed on. I guess that when I am over there in the spring, I will go to the court house and try to find out where local wells are and try to find out which direction they are going. If anybody knows how to do this online I would appreciate the info. Thanks Craig T. Pistner
