Come on Somerset let us all in, or is this only for Columbia pipeline. Any info on the new leases terms would be very helpful.  Thanks.

I have a client with property in Springs, PA, which is Elk Lick Township.  Does anyone know if Chief is actively seeking leases around that area?

Thanks.

We were approached last March by Chief.  They told us that they were testing all through the summer and would begin approaching landowners in September.  Has anyone heard from them as of yet?  We are in Conemaugh Twp., near Jerome.  Thanks.

Has anybody signed with Chief Oil and not received payment in Somerset Co. / Fayette Co?

I would imagine things heating up in somerset (not that I'm recommending a price).  Chief has been doing seismic in Cambria county so their probably buying up further down south to continue seismic at some point.

Chief Exploration and Development offered to lease my land in Jenner  Township for $50.00/ acre for the initial signing and then $1500.00 per mineral acre for a 5 year lease. Does any one else know if this is reasonable for this area? I haven't signed anything yet.

Do you know which company is doing most of the drilling. I have been in contact with Cheif, Chesapeak, and XTO and all of them have told me that there is little happening in the area at the moment.

There was a good bit of gas leasing activity in Somerset County in 2008 and before. There's a well drilled and fracked (I think) near the intersection of 160 and 31 just east of Roxbury on 31. I think there's been more down your way too.

My family has about 200 acres near the Meyersdale area. Does anyone know if there is any exploration or drilling going on near there and/or what the prospects of drilling in that area are. I have an opportunity to purchase additional land adjacent to ours and would like to know as much as i can before making a commitment.
