"Marge, They cannot drill under the property you hold the rights to unless they lease them from you. Even if they drill the property next to you, they must stay away from the boundry a specified distance. I don't remember the exact distance,…"

"From what I understand, your extended family own O&G rights for 29 acres. A lease bonus for these 29 acres might potentially amount to a sum of $50,000-$100,000. Should the acreage be included in a pool; ultimate royalties might amount to ten…"

"Marguerite; First you say you were "offered a lease, nothing happened" What do you mean by nothing happened? Do you mean that no one signed the lease? Or did you sign and no wells were drilled? You say you own the "mineral…"

Tell us your story...
We have mineral rights to 27.816 acres of land in Lambert, Fayette County, Pa. We have had two companies, Viking Resources Corp. and Atlas America, Inc. send us a lease to sign back in 1999, there are quite a few heirs involved in this, nothing was done, have heard nothing more. However, my brother in law went to Lambert, Pa, and there were two oil rigs on either side of property where we have mineral rights, Chevron has the rigs, he couldn't get any information from the security there. Is it possible they could be extracting oil underneath the land where we have the mineral rights? How do we find out how far down they are going and if they are going taking oil underneaath this land. We know there is oil there, due to the fact that two different companies have contacted us wanting us to sign the lease. Can you lead me in the right direction, as to how we can find out about what is going on? My brother in law was in the Court House in Uniontown, Pa. and they said they couldn't help him.
