Defering Taxes

Has anyone discussed defering taxes on the leasing of Gas rights via a 1031 exchange or other methods with a knowledgeable tax person? Is it possible?

"Joe,   They have the pipe laid for the gas line from your well to comp. station. Water line not in yet as of last weekend. No one was around working. Getting ready to drill at Miller site at end of your road."
