I'm new to "gomarcellusshale", as well as new to this business.  We have a 152 acre farm with "Clinton" gas wells which supply our needs.

We've been approached by Fossil Creek Energy Corp (FCEC) for $50/acre, 12.5% Royalty, and $10,000 if a well is drilled.  We are sitting on the Utica Strata.  I've carefully read the lease and am very suspicious of the terms.  We are consulting attorneys.  I don't see any members from Noble County..and some interesting notes from Guernsey which lead me to suspect the FCEC lease.  Can they broker a lease after signing "cheap"?

We have news of ARTEX Oil offering leases in our County, they're out of Marietta.  Any comment on FCEC, ARTEX, and my suspicions would be welcomed!

Christiane, they are talking about the Mosser group and Shell Oil. I'm not sure how the Guernsey County info got started here on leases offered in Noble discussion. Not that I mind and all.....the more the merrier! lol
From what i hear shell is only taking people in Noble that are on or near the border of the county.  However, my guess is shell and other large  companies will continue to get closer to us over the next couple of months.
Lol! Thanks for the explanation TP and Sawtooth! I see now that the connection is the Noble townships near the Guernsey border.
Shell Oil will take walk ins Oct 27/28 and Oct 31 through Nov 4th  from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Southeastern Equipment Training Center, 11407 Old National Road, Cambridge, Ohio.  They are only taking walk ins for Guernsey County.  If you have over 30 acres you can sign a lease.  Less than 30 acres, sign a contact information form and they will be in touch with you at a later date.  Upfront bonus $5000 and 20% gross royalty.

How do I find a group in my area (Buffalo township) so that I can get a lease going? I was in the Homestead Energy group that got the Guernsey county lease but me and my neighbor got left out of the signing.

Open signing today with the KWGD group at Pine Lakes Lodge in Salesville.  $3700 acre at 18%.

The open signing is between 3pm and 6pm only.
Those are low numbers. I think waiting is the best way to go. The numbers will surely go up. Our land is as valuable or more so than Guernsey Co since they're running out of land there, and we still have land to lease; and they want to lease all the land that's is out there. So, patience is key. Good luck to us all.
You may be right about it going up , but that is the highest offer to date in Noble. Hard to figure how my land is worth so much more than my neighbors. (i am right on border)

Scott, that may change if they strike "Black Gold......Texas Tea" at the Windy Ridge location. lol

They plan for that location to be in production by March.

Judy, our (kwgd) bid package went out to all the major players twice. We rejected the first offer that came back, but none of the major players (Shell, Hess, Chesapeake...etc) had any interest in Noble County. The only bidder in the area, Eclipse, was only interested in the Northern townships of Noble, but agreed to take some of the southern twps in our group. Good Luck to you as well.
TP,  My mother drove by the Windy Ridge site and can confirm they are drilling.  I had heard there was a hold due to fracking disputes in NY State that have now cleared.  So in Ohio they started with that release.  My Great Grandfather (four generation ago) is buried on a hill overlooking the site, I'm wondering what he would think!  It is an exciting time for SE Ohio!
