What has been your experience when it comes to having your water tested ?
Who tested your water, a Company hired by your gas company ?
When did they test the water, when you signed the lease or months/ years after you signed ?
How long did it take to get the results after they did take the samples ?
How did you get the results, by mail ?
Can they start drilling in your Unit before everyone in the Unit has had their water tested ?
A lot of questions, but I haven't been able to find info on how this part of the process works.

It would help if you would mention what state you are in.
About a year ago CHK in Beaver County Pa had a friends lake tested, and a spring I believe. There are no wells or structures of any kind on the property. They did on-site tests that had to be done immediately from taking the sample, as well as sending water samples to two separate independent labs. I think he got his results in two months or so via mail/fedex, don't really know. I saw them and they were very thorough. His property is about 2600 feet away from the well site. By law they didn't have to go that far in Pa, but they did. Of course by the looks of how much they are going to drill in our area I believe we will all have a thorough free water test. Their water testing methodology is one of the good things CHK is doing from my perspective.
They appear to test the water on the ramp up to constructing a pad and drilling, not a certain time after signing a lease.
Hope that helps.
Thanks, Craig, Info would be for the State of Pa.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
