If anyone has additional info. I think it would be helpful to post it here.

I think that alot of what happens with new Leasehold agreements will be determined on the outcome and what outfit buys up the Chesapeake Leaseholds being sold - contiguity of lands being rather important to establishing horizontal drilling pads / 640 acre drilling units.

Keeping my ears and eyes open anyway.

Thanks Amanda.

ALOV however is a different group than Buckeye Mineral.

I'll look to see if Buckeye Mineral has a web presence.

Thanks again.

Yeah, ALOV was the group that Bob Rea started as a non-profit.  He later started a for-profit group AKA Buckeye Mineral.  :-)  I cannot confirm nor deny if the leases are the same for both; however.  Sorry.

@ Bill Simpson:

BTW also Mr. Bill, when you say 'We as group members...' I believe you're referring to being a group member of this Ashtabula County Group discussion forum and not a member of Buckeye Mineral / EALA as yet - as I think Buckeye members would get the most reliable information as quickly as would be possible.  If you're a Buckeye member and groping around for information (like we are) it doesn't really speak very highly of the Buckeye organization - does it ? ?

Care to confirm or deny ? ?

I am a member of this forum as it is a wealth of information as to the O@G industry, do's and don'ts and other valuable info that a layman like myself likes to read. This includes comparing leases line for line and speaking with people who follow what is going on. I also read all the topics/discussions on gomarcellusshale.com....excellent source of knowledge.

I am also a member of the EALA group which will be represented by Buckeye Mineral/Bob Rea. I like the way Bob works for the individual and their future interests.

Am north of Route 6 just waiting for any kind of information to flow my way. My Amish neighbor signed with Wishgard for 1500 per acre...this is what happens when you do not read or ask questions.

I read and write to try and develop a fundamental understanding of the O&G industry and the Utica Point Pleasant Shale Play as they call it; but most of all as a self-preservation mechanism (for my family) in what we sense to be a very Landowner hostile market place.

You write that Buckeye Mineral / Bob Rea will represent EALA, so we take it that Buckeye / Bob haven't officially taken on the responsibility as yet - that also being a fathomable reason for not having much information to share.

When does Buckeye anticipate to start ?

For information, we're north of Route 6 also in Richmond Township.

Has your Amish neighbor (signed with Wishgard) been paid by Wishgard as yet ?

If so who has Wishgard sold his Leasehold to ?

How's that for some questions neighbor ?

I have no more information than you do.

Have no clue whether or not my Amish neighbor was paid. None of my business.

I suggest you contact EALA/Buckeye Minerals for any updates .I am just sitting and waiting like you.

Well, in a neighborly way I believe it could be rationalized as your business and mine regarding whether or not a fellow (neighbor) was honored with payment and who now holds the Lease.

Just sitting around waiting never sat well with me or my family, and still doesn't.  We don't want to be the ones to hold up our own show.

Getting steam-rolled by Land Companies also doesn't sit well with us.

Only having one out by joining a Landowner Group being represented by a  Land Company that won't give anyone a clue as to how well it's doing or publish a Leasehold Agreement so a Landowner can try to make an intelligent decision also doesn't sit well with us either.

On what basis is someone to make an intelligent decision - got to have concrete intelligence when you go into a war zone.

That's what I mean by Landowner Hostile Market Place.

Here is what I know as of today.  A new EALA meeting will be held on June 26th at 7PM at the Pymatuning Valley High school. Speaking will be Bob Rea. I do not anticipate being any sign ups just more information on what is happening and where things are headed. An Email will be sent out to all the contacts tomorrow of the new meeting.

What's happening in the Pierpont area is Wishgard is/has sent out checks to some of my Amish neighbors, the only reason I know is I have been delivering hay to a few and they had volunteered the information. I would not be so bold as to ask. Shell stated they are not in the county or would be.

If I have to guess then my guess would be that a 'major' (different than Shell) bought the Wishgard Leaseholds enabling the Landowner payouts.

BP was the 'major' in Trumbull as I have it - but then again there are alot of 'majors' out there.

Don't you think it's strange that we know more about the Trumbull deal than we know about the Wishgard deal here in Ashtabula County ?

We do.

Joseph-Ohio:

It seems you are being a little impatient. Being "neighborly" means working together, not against. I'm part of the group that just signed with BlackRidge and even though I didn't meet all of the neighbors involved, the information was passed on from neighbor to neighbor. Myself and one of the big land owners who was a key part of the group, exchanged information all the time. Good or bad, we worked together for the best outcome.

In short, all I'm saying is you can sign with whoever you want. If your not comfortable with any landowner group or so on and so forth, wait for your own "good lease".

Bryan congrats to the group, you did exactly what you needed to do . Go to all the different meetings by all the different groups and get the knowledge needed to make a informed decision.

You didn't stay up all night worrying about everything under the sun. Lets face it  , for most people it is not going to be a life changing amount of money, maybe pay the mortgage off ,  set some money for kids education, make retirement easier. YOU will need to put your pants on and keep going to work everyday.

Thanks Dan. Thats exactly how I/we looked at it. We all have to go to work every day like normal. This is just an added bonus.
