ALOV and Northern Trumbull County- Updated Discussion to include BP Lessor's and Bonus money Payment's

Hello all!

I have been doing a little research and speaking with friends and neighbors about forming a group to address the needs of those of us not yet represented by a landowners group.

This led me to call ALOV after hearing that they had accepted some acreage in Trumbull county.

I paid little attention to ALOV earlier as their website did not list Trumbull county as an area of interest, although the work they were doing was certainly of great interest to me.

From what i gather there was a cut-off of June 30 for sign-up with ALOV, they extended that and also had a meeting at RD banks Chevy in Champion. This may not be news to some of you, but i had not come across the posting until after. The word i got from an individual at ALOV was that Chesapeake set a northern geographical cut-off in Trumbull county of St.Rt.88, again this may not be a newsworthy flash to some. Many landowners attended, more than expected according again to a source at ALOV, and signed up their acreage.

Now heres the news, ALOV has agreed to start a "Waiting List" of still more interested parties from areas north of St.Rt.88. If you call them with name, address and phone number they will put you on the list, and depending on level of interest, they may choose to represent us as a group in a similiar fashion, with the same or even better terms to Chesapeake, or another interested party.

So call up ALOV, their number is listed on their site www.alov.us , and ask to be included in their next go around. From where i stand why re-invent the wheel, they already have done the groundwork and have the attention of the industry on favorable terms, lets ask them to either start another "Pool" to include us, or come work with us to the same end.

If you have information to share, please join in the discussion, Thanks

Hello again to all my fellow Utica Shale Owners. I Just stopped in to ask if there were any who signed with BP from the ALOV Northern Trumbull county group, that resulted from these efforts, still around.

Has anyone had any conversations/correspondence from BP concerning title defects, or other issues that would delay payment or affect your lease, or gotten a check for Bonus money?

KLB,

i was assured by Mr.David Greenwood and several other BP reps. that if title defects were found they would communicate to the landowner in question immediatley, to give them time to try and clear them up. I know were getting down to the wire but lots not give up hope quite yet.

I myself was spending alot of time re-reading the old leases the former owner of my farm had signed. I was almost sure there might be a loophole in the ambigious lease that the former lessee might use to try to hold our lease, and this was signed in 1985, assigned to another company in 1987, even though by all rights the primary term had expired and we were not ever permitted or drilled, no activity of any kind.

So how did the original lessee assign our lease? This was giving me fits, but i thought i would take the chance that BP would accept us, if not, the next step would have been an O&G attorney. Well short story is BP must have found no reason there to kick it back, as i got my check this week.

Here's hoping it all works out for all of you! I have to go now and work on finding someone to put a new roof on our house, and some other projects before the rains are upon us. Good Luck!

P.S. I hope by my earlier rant i have not been labeled a radical right wing extremist by my fellow shale landowners, but we do need to remain vigilant for the scum-bag thieves that are making there way around the country backroads looking for their next hit.

There is just way to much crime for being out here in the country like this. Anyone can find and read our comments here. I know we all regard ourselves as neighbors and friends here, but this is the world wide web, right? A name can be parlayed into an address easy enough right? You can never be to careful.

Congrats on receiving your visit from the ice cream truck!  I have been wondering the same questions and am keeping my fingers crossed that I get my visit soon.  I have a million projects that need done around the farm, as I'm sure pretty much everyone else does.  Good luck with yours!

I have been wondering the same thing.  I tried to get in touch with both BP and ALOV and as yet no one has returned my calls.

Anyone get the BP newsletter today? That should get rid of the rumor of BP moving out of Trumbull. It looks like they have expanded the area of signing leases to surrounding counties that include Caroll, Columbiana, Stark, Mahoning, and Tuscarawas.

I did it looks good.

it said tell your neighbors to call us about leasing.

Tom, whom is spreading word that Bp is moving out of Trumbull, I believe BP is here to stay. From my understanding, BP is having two hanger bays built at the Youngstown airport for there aircraft. I believe BP has been leasing in several counties since June. BP IS NOT GOING ANY WHERE !!!!!!

Someone started that rumor on this board somewhere. I cant seem to find it now. It may have been removed because it was BS. I believed they misinterpreted something a bp landman said.

I found the link http://gomarcellusshale.com/group/trumbullcountyoh its at the bottom of the page

No they did not disclose what they are offering

How do you get the BP newsletter? I did not see it on their website.

It came in the mail.

How do I get on the mailing list?
