ALOV and Northern Trumbull County- Updated Discussion to include BP Lessor's and Bonus money Payment's

Hello all!

 I have been doing a little research and speaking with friends and neighbors about forming a group to address the needs of those of us not yet represented by a landowners group.

This led me to call ALOV after hearing that they had accepted some acreage in Trumbull county.

I paid little attention to ALOV earlier as their website did not list Trumbull county as an area of interest, although the work they were doing was certainly of great interest to me.

 From what i gather there was a cut-off of June 30 for sign-up with ALOV, they extended that and also had a meeting at RD banks Chevy in Champion. This may not be news to some of you, but i had not come across the posting until after. The word i got from an individual at ALOV was that Chesapeake set a northern geographical cut-off in Trumbull county of St.Rt.88, again this may not be a newsworthy flash to some. Many landowners attended, more than expected according again to a source at ALOV, and signed up their acreage.

Now heres the news, ALOV has agreed to start a "Waiting List" of still more interested parties from areas north of St.Rt.88. If you call them with name, address and phone number they will put you on the list, and depending on level of interest, they may choose to represent us as a group in a similiar fashion, with the same or even better terms to Chesapeake, or another interested party.

So call up ALOV, their number is listed on their site www.alov.us , and ask to be included in their next go around. From where i stand why re-invent the wheel, they already have done the groundwork and have the attention of the industry on favorable terms, lets ask them to either start another "Pool" to include us, or come work with us to the same end.

 Hello again to all my fellow Utica Shale Owners. I Just stopped in to ask if there were any who signed with BP from the ALOV Northern Trumbull county group, that resulted from these efforts, still around.

Has anyone had any conversations/correspondence from BP concerning title defects, or other issues that would delay payment or affect your lease, or gotten a check for Bonus money?

Debbie, I talked to a couple yesterday that live East of 11 and they had been paid. A large amount of acerage I would believe.  I think it's coming, but when the neighbor gets his, you don't want to leave the house to run an errand because they might come. But nobody has a tracking # so everybodys life goes on hold. You can't order anything, you can't hire a contractor or anything. A parcel portal website would have solved this problem.

Debbie, Several landowners from Greene recieved bonus checks yesterday!!!!! I was told that BP is going to drill between 12 and 15 wells next year also I heard that siesmic testing will be done on dennison Ashtabula road real soon.

Thanks for the update, Craig.  I know the testers came by here on Saturday and talked to me about signing the release so they can do their "thumping"!  I've heard it all morning over on 46 so I know they must be close.  I sure could use that bonus check...so many things I'd like to get done before the weather turns.  But I'm just happy and keeping my fingers crossed that my check will get here!

To clarify:

I'm apologizing to Fang and retracting my comments toward him posted on another board (though I still hope he's wrong).

If my small parcel is surrounded by larger parcels which might have defective title (prior leases), I believe there is no monetary incentive for BP to pay out on my small parcel as it is simply cannot be developed.

I'm growing concerned about a Halcon incident here in Trumbull County.  Time I took a good look at the ALOV lease to see if it addresses this.

Another note.  I know no landowner who has received payment would be willing to indicate their acreage on a map (for fear of crime and obvious privacy issues), but it would be nice to see geographically who has been paid.  I think we'd all see a much clearer picture as to what BP is up to.  

I agree with that, but I told another guy, nobody I know is burying money in jars in the back yard. but like he said if you buy "stuff" everybody might think it's open season for theft.

on that topic it seems like not many west of 45 have been paid north of 88, but I think it is just guess, cuz thats where I am.

I  do know of small acreage paid by BP that was paid in vernon  st rt 7 some on beach-smith rd  and some on 305 in hartford and some on bushnell cambell rd  also that bp was planning on putting a well in the hartford orchards  next april  they sent out letters for permission to test water and survey properties in that unit last week  hope this helps  to  stay possitive :)

I am sure BP knew most of Trumbull was drilled out in the 70s with the shallow wells. That being said, I am sure they figured they would have to buy the rights from those o/g holders knowing it is probably not the landowner. I am no expert at all, but if the puzzle pieces need bought to be filled in they knew it. No atty of BP would not think of the 88k acres not being contiguous and expecting to drill right away without buying more. All in mho. I am still waiting, but keeping my head up. My atty once told me "I never saw a case where the client didn't think everything was going to go right and an atty didn't think everything was going to go wrong"

 

 

I wouldnt be to worried as BP just signed another lease down the street from me a week ago.  It may come down to the last day.

Hi all. Just to let you know that we received a title defect letter from BP today. I also want to warn you that it was delivered by Fed EX truck, just like the checks are. We had to sign for it. I hope everyone else gets a better result than us, and your envelope has better news. My dad signed a pooling agreement (for 12 acres off of the farm) to help out our neighbors back in the seventies, so they could also get a well. They didn't have quite enough acerage. He was the type that would help a neighbor. The well on the main farm was capped and abandoned more than 25 years ago, so we thought the remaining acerage would be clear. The small "laywer" print about the pooled 12 acres, as it turns out, somehow holds the much larger remaining acerage. The oil and Gas companies knew what they were doing back then, but it was ultimately our fault for trusting them and not getting a better laywer to look over the original lease. Can't cry over spilled milk. I guess the old fishing boat will have to do a little longer. 

I have read some of your past posts, and realize that you have a good knowledge of the business. My family and I are definately interested in options. How could I contact you?
