Not much info in the letter enXco sent out, but it would be on the ridge of hills that runs through Richmond, Tioga, Rutland, and Jackson Twps.

Oh isn't that just peachy keen! They have destroyed the scenic beauty of the Armenia ridge. So now they are branching out. SWELL!!

At least with natural gas development, when the wells are all in there is not a lot remaining to mess up the landscape. Certainly there is nothing 400 feet high. With the windmills, they take everything we have, and mar it forever. And the ugly winky-blinky lights on those towers at night are the coups de grace. The ones on Armenia all flash at the same time, on and off. It makes our formerly beautiful nighttime countryside look like a slots parlor, or maybe like a gargantuan advertising array. It is disgusting!!!!!!!!!
Frank The Armenia mt. wind farm is extremely ugly if you have to see it every day. I do agree with you!
Well maybe if everyone would turn off their TV's over night, dispose of the all night yard lights, and in general cut back on their usage of electrial energy there would be no need for these wind turbines. Then there is the fact that there are huge populations that demand all these things. Too many people now and more being born everyday who are going to demand more and more electric power. Like that old song says, "YOU CANT HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER!"

I have been reading your comments. Earl Cooper was my uncle. When we were very young, my parents worked the farm on South Hill which was owned by Waldo Wood's father. Olive was my father's cousin. SMALL world. Both my father and Uncle Earl would not believe what is going on in this part of the county. Sandy
oh my gosh. it is a small world. i miss earl so much. he was such a great friend to hubby and i. can't believe it is 6 yrs since he went to heaven. earl's daughter, gayle, has her camp right across the street from us. just visited with her and homer over the weekend. been following a couple of well sites very closely with pics. eldon cummings and richard matz (old charlie treat farm). thank you so much for your comment. always nice to meet people. sincerely, nancy
Prior to 1972 my sister and family lived on the hill overlooking the former Arbor Entec operation. John Painter bought that property and now stores hay in the buildings there. I think that farm was known as the old Davis farm. There is or was a gas well located several hundred feet behind that house. Someone had piped the limited amount of gas through 3/4 inch plastic from the well to the house. From time to time water would build up in the plastic pipeline and freeze. I helped them to thaw it out a few times.

That field was so large that it took a full hour just to mow around the perimeter once.

we moved here from lebanon co, pa in 1999. bought our land from waldo and olive wood. the late earl cooper was our closest perm neighbor on bates hill rd. haven't had the pleasure yet of meeting mr painter, though. heard alot of wonderful things about him. our friends from reading, pa area bought land from mr painter on knox road, deerfield twp. built a beautiful home away from home. they are 1/2 mile from baker's gas well site. just started the road for the e&s stormwater facility today. just got home from taking pics for them. nice chatting with you. sincerely, nancy
I believe that Waldo wood was a cousin of John Painter. John Painter, his two brother's Terry and Norman and their sister Marian have been life long neighbors and friends of mine. John's farm joins my property on the east and just recently on the south. I doubt that you could find any better neighbor or friendly people then John, his wife Lynda and their offspring.

I made it a point to drive up the Ely road this morning. There are two wells located on that road. One well is located near the top of Ely hill. I was married to the Ely girl for about 18 years. I happen to see my former brother in law and stopped to chat with him for a very few minutes. But it was just too dang hot to say much. Apparently East has drilled on the farm adjoining the Ely farm. Roland Ely did not seem too pleased with the situation there. He did mention a dollar figure of $5.00 but I have no idea what that might have been about. He did say, "Get a dang good lawyer before signing anything!"
