I live in the area and wonder if anyone knows if the well is finally up and running after being tied up in the courts for several weeks. We have 38 acres and signed a lease a good while ago which was way too early I think.Being close to the Ohio border, is it true that it is the wet gas? I have been told both ways.

Permalink Reply by James Brink, Esq. on February 13, 2013 at 10:32am The McRoberts unit formed by CHK included a piece of the Bibbee's property. The declaration of the unit, including the identities of the landowners in the unit and their contribution to the unit, is public record filed in Beaver County. Since it is now HBP by the McRoberts well, there is no need to hurry to develop the entire Bibbee property.

Although I am not a liberty to disclose the terms of the settlement, I can say that CHK has the authority to complete the McRoberts well. It is my belief that CHK has every intention of doing so.

Permalink Reply by Frank Nesmith on February 15, 2013 at 8:22pm I heard there are no plans to develop the Bibbee property because there is not enough room there for the well with current setbacks.
Permalink Reply by James Brink, Esq. on February 16, 2013 at 4:23am I can't recall the exact specifications that were plotted in the well permit application, but I seem to recall that they were able to fit it considering even the new setback requirements.
lol...i think so..have not followed it much. i know it is moving forward. talked to the lawyer last week. you are welcome to call me at the store!
Permalink Reply by Frank Nesmith on November 3, 2012 at 7:19am I heard it's supposed to go in the field behind their house, but one neighbor won't sign a lease so they have to stick with the 500 feet away from their house according to the township rules, so they can't put it there unless the state wins the Act 13 appeal. It's not too close to McRoberts. They are putting them pretty close together in some areas.

Permalink Reply by Ronald R. Nesbitt on November 16, 2012 at 2:31pm I heard this well was capped. Does anyone know what is going on?
Permalink Reply by craig on November 16, 2012 at 5:00pm We have no way of knowing what is going on, unless it entails waiting for infrastructure to be built....which I believe is at least part of the reason nothing is happening.

Permalink Reply by Ronald R. Nesbitt on December 1, 2012 at 6:43pm Anything going on with the McRoberts well?
Permalink Reply by Frank Nesmith on March 5, 2013 at 10:48am The Nesbitt well is supposed to be next here. They are already sending out notices to test the water. Several people in the area have received them. Lots of upset folks in that neighborhood.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
