Seitel 3-D Seismic Work in Central Pennsylvania
Has anyone been contacted for seismic work in Indiana, Jefferson & Clearfield counties in Pa by Seitel? If so, any updates on their activity? Anyone have experience with 3-D seismic work both positive or negative?

Yes, I have been contacted regarding acreage off of Hwy 219 at the
Washington/ Snyder Township border. I believe it is in relation to the Frano / EQT well
just to our SW. South of Brockway, north of Dubois. 3-D will give them the data they need to determine whether to drill. I see no reason not to allow. Hoping for WET but others in area are DRY. Not overly optimistic for new drilling until NG hits and hovers around $5.

Steve, check out the Seitel website for a more defined explanation of their plans for your area. From all indications Jefferson County is a dry gas area. Thanks for replying...

Interesting. Not sure what "Horton" refers to. Much of that land is leased to Flatirons and Dannic. Thanks for the tip. Perhaps my guess of the spudded Frano/ EQT well is inaccurate.
And Yes,Unfortunately I am very aware that this area is Dry. Please keep me posted if you hear of any new developments in that corner of Jefferson and Elk counties. I will do the same.

John Anthony and farmgas. Upon further review, I was wrong about Seitel and the acreage
off of 219. I declined the Seitel effort due to Flatirons interest in Snyder Township and a small portion of Elk. The acreage off of 219 is a different seismic effort brokered by Cougar. I think it still pertains to the Frano/EQT well.
On a side note, assuming you both are supportive of fracking in our area. A friend of mine is actually in the movie Promised Land- Lucas Black is his name. Please don't throw him under the bus with Matt Damon and the others. He is a good man and a good actor but is totally in favor of fracking done right and actually has land in LA that has producing NG. You won't see him with Damon and the others on the negative PR trail and has told them he is not on their side on this subject.

John Anthony...any news who might use this seismic data for drilling? Looks like Consol CNX & EXCO Resources are working that area. Yes Steve, I support fracking for natural gas.

Just read today cnx permit applied for at the Marchand well...
Exon Mobile recently completed a horizontal on the Stear pad between Trade City and Georgeville
Marchand loation near Rte 119 and XOM on Rte 210...both in North Mahoning Twp

John, I noticed that the Stear well has a new pipeline leading away from it heading in a northeast direction. I thought this was an XTO Energy well pad. Are they now Exxon Mobile? Do you know where the Marchand well pad will be located? Any new pipelines planned by Consol CNX?

XTO Energy were purchased by EXXON and are now a subsidiary of EXXON.
