Has anyone else received notice of lease transfer from Alta to Williams Production?  Just got our notice today and have no idea who this company is. Has anyone heard of them and are they drilling anywhere?

Yes, I got one too on one of my early leases. Williams is a major player, symbol is WMB. They have paid Alta $500 million for 42,000 acres in Susquehanna County.

Do you think they are going to drill or just add to their mega pipelines? Haven't seen them drilling much at all.
They go in with other compananies so it is hard to tell who is doing the drilling. I know they are partnered with Rex energy. ap
They are involved with Rex Gas And Oil Corp in Butler county,Pa. I have a lease with Rex.
Is Rex doing alot of drilling?
my letter also mentioned Alerion Gas MAR. i googled them but came up with very little. do you have any info on them. thanks for any info you have.
I have tried to research them too and just come up with a bunch of lawyers not sure what they are exactly.
Williams is a big company that does it all. Pipline, drilling, etc. They have several subsidary companies that begin with the Williams name. I would say it is good news? ap

Williams spun off (@ 2 weeks ago) their Marcellus play to WPX (stock symbol), a new subsidiary of Williams. can't remember if that also their name.

Williams has been readying several wells in Silver Lake township.

i don't see any info from the DEP re: any producing wells from Williams as of yet.

In Susquehanna County, WPX Energy has 40,000 net acres and plans to operate four rigs here in 2012, double the current level. The company expects wells here to provide an after tax internal rate of return of 58%. This return is calculated using an average well cost of $4.6 million, an estimated ultimate recovery of 5.55 Bcfe per well and a natural gas price of $4.85 per Mcf.

Williams wells are planned on Patton Road, Hawranick Road and Mahoney Road in Silver Lake township according to the Supervisors minutes.
