I've been contacted by Vantage Energy pertaining my great grand parents mineral rights. They are very rude!  My family decedents have 87 acres that they want to add to property the acquired from Chessapeak.  They are offering 3500 per productive acre and 18% royalty. But here is when he got rude, when I asked if 18% then why do I have to pay the post production cost? Then he couldn't tell me how much the cost will be. Then he tells me no one going to get rich in you family from this too many members. But his associate was like conceder you won the lottery. Then I asked him what happens if myself and my Uncles don't sign. He said if the family has the majority sign then they don't need them? My mom and my uncles are the only remaining closest descendants to my great grdparents alive would that not make them have the greatest percentage involved? I'm having our friend who once did this kind of law look over the lease, but this guy made it sound like they wont change the lease at all. He said look at it this way are you better off to sign and get a little or nothing at all!!! What a jerk! If its so easy to go around this property then why have they went to all the trouble to find all my grd parent descendants????? But got to hurry up only giving me 14 days from date of letter to respond!!!! what a scare tactic!

the rights you own would not be around holbrook would it ?

Yes...however ,it is VATAGE ENERGY . I was contacted by Jeff Scott and they did purchase the wells. Chesapeake is having financial problems and liquidating.  . Small private company out of Colorado, near Denver. However, they are not the only game in town and from what I have been told (similar situation, several farms with multipe family members left from the orriginal family), to have a lease, all members must sign. To sell the land, any one can sell their percentage. If they purchasing company (ie Vantage) purchases the lease rights from some members, then they just become part of the lease pool that you and the rest of your family are in.  I'm in the same boat trying to find all my other cousins to negociate a lease

I also was contacted by Rice Energy with the same start...$3500 acre/ 18%....Joe W Corrado
